The Mystic

The room was updated and very clean! This updated motel was easy to access and the front staff was very professional and friendly. The beds were too firm for our comfort, but for a one night, we were happy with our stay. Thank you!

I liked the unique nature of the motel. I was greeted warmly and my room was comfortable. I did not like being given an ADA room; not requested and not needed; it made the shower uncomfortable. I will stay here again but worlds first make sure i was given a standard room.

Nicely refurbished property with very kind and attentive staff. Conveniently located a short drive from the Plaza and Meow Wolf. Very tasty breakfast (overnight oats, eggs to orde, or waffles) that is for sure better than most free hotel breakfasts. Really great for the price point.

Be prepared if you have a pet. You'll pay the pet fee of $25 , but we were not prepared to pay an EXTRA $30 in "cleaning fees". Tried to get a wi-fi code, but could not get anyone to answer the phone.

Stay was good, close to town and cute room. Negatives - rooms were tiny, was given gate instructions before my arrival and once I was there was told the gate would open for any car that came up to it. Didn't feel unsafe, but wish this was more secure than just letting any car in. A large reason that we booked this hotel over other hotels in the area was because of the rave breakfast reviews. We stayed for 2 nights over New Years Eve and New Years Day and came down for breakfast on New Years Day and was told it was closed. The attendant at the front desk said we emailed you and I let her know I did not receive an email nor was not informed upon booking the hotel or when I was checked in. Was then told we emailed those reservations that were booked through AirBnB which mine was not. Very frustrating as we then had to spend an additional expense for breakfast that we werent expecting.

I booked on Expedia at around 8 pm, got to the property at about 8:20. The office door was closed and locked. Sign said the office was staffed until 9 pm, and had a number to call after hours. I called the number and got no answer and a recording said the voice mailbox was full and I couldn’t leave a message. I wasn’t sure what to do at that point so I waited outside to see if someone would show up. After 5-7 minutes, they did. They had been in the adjoining cafe next door and expected me to go there to check in. Just useful info for any others who have a similar experience. I had booked the suite, and it was fabulous. So I had a good experience once checked in.

The room was basic but very clean and everything worked. The outstanding feature of the Mystic is its restaurant and free breakfast. When they say “breakfast made to order,”they mean it: homemade potatoes, several pieces of thick bacon, eggs cooked to your specifications, and good bread (or tortillas). The restaurant itself is gorgeous and features outstanding art and decor. The space is available to rent for parties or private events. Would be a wonderful place for a small wedding reception…highly recommend.
