Great location, excellent staff. Physical facility could use some work, unpainted drywall repairs and worn moldings were not uncommon. Breakfast was ok, but below Embassy Suites standards. More troubling were the items that were not functioning. One of three elevators was functional. The same elevators serve the parking, so a 10-15 minute wait for the lone elevator were normal. Also, the outdoor 8th floor patio deck with a pool and bar adjacent were closed for unclear reasons. This was a primary reason that I had booked this hotel, and the pool deck was even featured in an e-mail sent to me by the hotel the day before I checked in. "Here at the Embassy Suites, we have our amazing gym, pool, and restaurant all on the 8th floor with a beautiful view of Sarasota." Parking was $40. Resort fee for the non-functional pool area was $25. Had I known about the elevators and the pool deck with its beautiful view being closed, I would have stayed elsewhere.

It took 20 minutes to get down with the elevator. 10 minutes of waiting at top and bottom. Not worth staying here for that inconvenience when trying to check out in the morning. Plus the $28 convenience fee isn’t convenient and is unnecessary and excessive. Avoid this place

Loved the room in this hotel. It was clean, very comfortable, and really appreciated the attached living room/office area. The restaurant was exceptional -- highly recommend the short rib with the cheesy grits. The breakfast buffet was a standard buffet, but it had freshly custom made omelettes and you can make your own waffles. It was very walkable and I loved the fact that you can self park and come and go as you please.

Awful experience. Both electricity and water were out of service for over three days. Eventually, the hotel staff had to evacuate everyone with an hour notice. Will not be staying here again. Extremely unprofessional.
