Well room was dirty and we had ants in our bed. Also someone lives there on first floor and the door was open and you could see inside and it was filthy and clutter. Neber would stay here again.

Couldnt get into our room for half of our stay

So i will start this review by stating that staff at the hotel did try their best to deal with the following situation, but despite this our stay was extremely frustrating. We received a phone call from the hotel to check we were still coming. I told them we would get there around 6 and that is when we arrived. Upon arrival, there was an issue with the key card reader on the door of our room (314). We were asked to take a seat for 5 or 10 minutes while the problem was fixed. This was frustrating after 5 hours of driving but also, sometimes things cant be helped so we obliged and didnt make a fuss. The problem was fixed after longer than 10 minutes but again, we were just happy to get in the room. Fast forward to the next day. We went out for the morning, only to return for the key card reader to again not be working. So we couldnt get into our room. So two members of the hotels cleaning staff had to essentially 'break in' to our room for us to gain access, as there was no way of manually by passing the card reader ( those 2 were fabulous to be fair). So we got in to our room, then went out again. While we were out, a staff member replaced the batteries for the second time and reprogrammed the reader for a second time. It worked! Until we went out an hour or so later, then it failed again. Same process. Went to a concert at casino rama. Returned to the hotel at 11pm, couldnt get in, had to wait more than half hour to get in. Waiting for manager to contact us.

Beautiful Establishment

I love thus establishment and my stay was very good with the exception of not having any bedding for the pullout couch which my guest slept on using her hoodie to cover with. We didn’t even open the pullout till about 3:30 am but had assumed the bedding would be in the closet. Maybe confirm with clients if the pullout will be used and provide if required.

Overall it was a respectable stay. I'm giving it 3 stars because I appreciate when hotels allow you to check in a couple hours early if you arrived sooner than expected after a long drive. Rather than be told "No, our check in policy is 3pm. No sooner". Also i saw a hot tub in photos online in the pool area when researching the hotel. To my surprise after I finally got my room and changed into a bathing suit and rushed downstairs that the hot tub was gone! As in totally removed and area renovated to never appear like there was one. The pool felt like a solid 70F. Our bedrooom had 2 tv's but only one remote. AND LASTLY, after getting back to the room after a long evening after midnight. Both room keycards that were in different places and not next to anything magnetic coincidently didnt work. How conveneint. So that dreaded walk back again to the front desk was fun. Not very conveneint. On a postive, the breakfast was good their scambled eggs were great.

Well maintained building. Extremely clean. Very friendly staff. We only have 1 complaint. The beds were very comfortable, but the pillows are terrible. Three pillows per bed, 1 standard size and 2 about half the size of a standard pillow. They are very lumpy and bigger pillow was hard as well as lumpy. This not a real complaint but an eyesore as you walk in the room, the bed skirts need to be put on properly. At the end of the beds one side of skirt was touching the floor and the other side half way up the mattress and along the side of the bed the same way. I would definitely recommend this hotel just bring your own pillow. I will book a room here on my next stay in Orillia.

I was pleased with my stay. The complimentary breakfast (scrambled eggs, toast, bagels, pastries, coffee etc.) was good. Room was on the second floor and had a fridge and microwave as well as a Keurig machine (which I liked). I would definitely stay there again.

The rooms are nicely furnished and clean. Tub is new and taps, towel rails are very nice, trimmed with gold metal. Kitchen cabinets and furniture are real oak. Although it says a bar in the ad there is a bar counter but not open unless you ask front desk for a drink and they give you one, not a place you lounge.
