Very good

A rustic resort, this property has several amenities and programs. While most of the amenities were open air (but under cover), it wasn't as "buggy" as we were expecting. Our room was very clean and screened in (bugs were not a factor). The wall fan in our room kept us cool. Judy was very helpful and friendly. The food was good. The property is between the river and the main road so you will occasionally hear some cars at night. Also, the property is only as quiet as your neighbors allow it to be, as the sound can really carry and your windows will likely be open due to the heat. Fortunately, we stayed on a Sunday night and it was very quiet. We would stay here again for the Amazon jungle ambience.
Selina Amazon Tena was a beautiful boutique hotel with many amenities. iT is located in front of a river and surrounded by forest. The place was quiet and peaceful.
Got to know Selina, a network with many places in Latin Amarica. A safe space, a friendly environment filled with creativity and love. Very amazed about how such projects can emerge and can be maintained(!) Very inspiring.

WE loved the property we loved the staff we did not love that the second floor of the cabin we stayed was rented to ppl that partied until 400 am. No one did a thing.
The property was beautiful and the staff were very nice and helpful. The bed was very clean, but the room was a bit dusty. The pool was cloudy looking so I didn't swim.
I was disappointed with my stay at Selina Amazon Tena. As an established chain, I expected my stay to be straightforward and easy. It was quite the opposite. Upon arrival, the bathroom of my room had bugs covering the floor. It looked as if it had not been cleaned or, in the very least, swept in a while. On top of that, the water from both the sink and shower smelled like sulfur. This smell did not improve at all over the course of my 2-night stay. Second problem: the Selina website makes it seem as if there are so many activities available to guests. This is not the case if you are traveling solo. You need a minimum of 2 people to schedule any activity. On top of that, when I scheduled a 2-person Class III rafting trip for $65, Selina scheduled us for a 2-person Class I-II kayaking trip and did not inform us beforehand. Next problem: as with most Selinas, this one has a bar. I came back one night with my friend to get drinks only to find that they were out of rum, and as a result, all the drinks were $2 extra than advertised because they had to use a more expensive alcohol. It was unprofessional of them to increase drink prices because they were unable to maintain stock. Another problem: I was planning on taking a bus to a nearby town and asked the receptionist for the bus schedule. They told me a time without looking up the schedule and it ended up being wrong. I waited for an hour for no bus. I paid for a taxi. Disappointing experience. Do not recommend.
Fantastic location right on the river so peaceful and in the middle of nowhere. Went on a jungle tour booked by the staff at selina and it was a highlight of our trip!
Imagine a cabine next to the river in the middle of the jungle! It was an amazing experience for the home family (including a not so happy teenager for there is no internet connection). The kids went tubing, swimming next to a cascade, insects sightseeing, among many other treats. Food and service were great!
It's a hotel in the Amazonia, and I enjoyed it, even if the cabañas had not electricity.
The "how to obtain the chocolate from cocoa was very good".
I think that hotel must be tabaco smoke free building.
The location was half an hour away from Tena by taxi, which means you will probably be eating most meals at the Hotel. Every meal is a three course meal expertly prepared with attention to appearance, that tastes incredible. They are $20 a plate which is really high compared to the rest of ecuador, but it is worth it. The rooms are beautiful, with netting for windows which really helps with the atmosphere. The staff is helpful, accommodating, friendly and fun. They clean your room daily, and bring lit lanterns every night to your lodge. The hotel is in the middle of the jungle, so if you want to be secluded you have it. The pool is wonderful, and the tours they offer are great.

On the Edge of the Jungle
This lodge is right on the Napa River and easy to get to by car. I drove from Banos and it took less than three hours on decent roads. The lodge is situated close to the road and there is parking. It's about a hundred meters walk to the reception over a nice path. My room was situated over the river with a nice balcony to sit and watch the river go by. During the night there was a terrific storm with thunder and lightning over the jungle and i sat out on the balcony to watch.
Selina was a great place to stay, as within 15 minutes driving (or less) from the property you can access amazing places to swim, eat tasty and affordable lunches and see monkeys. You can also easily hike to waterfalls. The pool at Selina is really nice. We were a bit worried when we arrived that it would be too loud/a lot of partying but they have a strict quiet policy at 11pm and our room (the family room) was very spacious and quiet. The food and drinks are decent but not great - the food in town is fantastic.
