As we arrived at the hotel, we slowly drove past the entrance and noticed half a dozen individuals—clearly struggling with addiction, homelessness, etc.—loitering around the property. Concerned for our safety and overall experience, we made a U-turn, drove away, and checked into another hotel in town. We had intended to write a letter to Travelodge headquarters about the abysmal state of the premises, but it slipped our minds. Now that Expedia has asked for a review, I’m not going to hold my tongue.

Travelodge by Wyndham Thunder Bay 450 Memorial Ave Thunder Bay ON P7B3Y7 Canada Beds were comfy and mostly it was quiet but… Nice seeing the Hells Angels ! Loved idling bikes for 1/2 hrs in am outside our window /main floor at 8 am Fridge froze our food - had to throw out ! Fridge was set lower - spoiled our food ! Door to our room left ajar/open all day while we were out ?? Cleaning staff ? Unacceptable! Limited food in breakfast room/ come later not restocked/ no coffee one day / machine broken Pool looked dark/dreary/dirty so we did not use it Sitting area outside not open / not kept up /weeds /no tables or chairs to sit outside No ice machine ? No screens on windows? AC very noisy TV but no guide to see what’s on /channels ? Wifi spotty - in /out constantly For a less costly motel it was still lacking and we would chose another place next time.

The property was rundown and dirty. The elevator was out of order, breakfast was very poor and the staff was rude. I will not be staying there again.

The layout of the room doesn't allow to open the fridge door for more than 45 degrees. The only chair was burnt by, probably, cigarettes. We stayed for 3 nights, noone came to empty the trash bins. They did not have towels to replace. They got dog's poop on the floor of the staircase.

We had to inspect both beds for insects, the carpets in the room was dirty, the AC was very dirty. The floor towel in the bathroom was ripped and had holes. We were just above a exit door which made so much noise when closing that it shook our beds. But the personal at the desk was friendly when i told him about all of that, he said he was sorry about that.

Old and quite dirty.

The service was good once they were able to help. There was omly one guy working and he looked stressed. It seemed they had overbooked the hotel. He did get me a new room once he clild since the one I had booked was not available. The room was very dirty and outdated and the beds sagged in the middle. The carpet was super disgusting. Breakfast was ok. The pool looked in bad condition.

Place needs to be modernized the showers are rusty the bed is creaking and everything on TV is from the early 2000’s or older boring and depressing stay. Staff was great though unfortunately I had to get a refund through the app instead of just asking them when they have my information already.
