I have trouble with stairs because of medical problems. The only way to enter this facility is up a flight of stairs through the restaurant or to walk around a park to the lobby entrance of the hotel. That entrance is where the parking lot is which is fine if you arrive by car. I arrived as a walk on passenger on the Coho. I chose this hotel because it is a short walk across the street. But your entrance issue negates that convenience. I shouldn't need to take an Uber to go around the block to get into the hotel. What about people with walkers and wheelchairs? How do they get in? I saw a Dad carry his stroller up the stairs. Because this hotel is older I imagine this can't be fixed. Given that, it should be put in the literature that the entrance is a problem for people with mobility issues. And add to it that the bathroom has a step up and is hazardous no matter how big the warning sign is on that step.

We left our hotel booking to the last minute and this was one of the few hotels that were available. There was a huge car show in Victoria that weekend (we didn't know that in advance). This hotel was right in the middle of the show, so congestion and street noise was much higher than normal.

Service and location is excellent

The staff was very helpful. They allowed us to store our luggage on site before and after our check in/check out. The location is excellent for both the Black Ball and Clipper ferries.

Older hotel with a few quirks (like a step up into the bathrooms, sketchy elevator). No air conditioning, but big windows that open and a fan in the room kept it cool. Parking is limited but free. We did have a mouse in our room…again…it’s an older hotel with quirks. Nice and close to the harbour, easy walk to shopping and dining. Picturesque location.
