We were not greeted warmly at all - the receptionist was unfriendly and very abrupt in his manner. The check in process was slow, manual and antiquated and overall we were not made to feel welcome.

Lively area with lots of great food options. The staff is wonderful, and there is a dog cafe on the rooftop. Breakfast was excellent. There is no ac so it was quite hot: would definitely return, though.

The location of the hotel is nice. However, the price of the rooms does not reflect the hostel-like environment of the property. Felt like I was in a cheap dorm room with minimal amenities. Also did not feel very secure as the front desk where our keys for the rooms were stored was often unattended and easily accessible.

Convenient location - very close to both the lake and the train station, right in the heart of the Old town. Two things to keep in mind - there is a flight of 20 stairs before you reach the elevator level - which is an issue with suitcases; since it faces the main square where a lot is happening during the summer - it is extermely noist until 2 am - I suspect this may not be an issue outside of te summer season. Very clean.

The hotel was fine and the people were friendly. My ratings are based on the lack of air conditioning. It was really really hot and sleeping was difficult even with a fan. It was an unusual heat wave but if you are going to Zurich in the summer just keep in mind that this hotel is not air conditioned.

This hotel is in an excellent location which is the center of the old town. There is a lot of restaurants around. One main problem is that the hotel does not have air-conditioning. This is challenging in the summer. The sink is too small. The shower area is also very small. This condition may or may not be compatible to the price of the hotel since I did not compare it with other nearby hotels. Therefore, I recommend you compare nearby hotels in terms of room size and air-conditioning when making a reservation

Very good location, but please be aware that there is no air conditioning and the bathroom is quite small. Be aware that the hotel requires prepayment even though it is marked as "pay later" at expedia.

We really liked the location of this property. Great restaurants and very walkable. But the hotel is above a restaurant and without AC windows opened leads to a lot of noises of dishes and setting up of chairs and tables. Make sure you get a fan. But, again, for the price the location is excellent.

So VERY conveniently located. The building which was 600 years old was full of history! It even had a well in the cellar that was still functioning! But even more so Sylvia (the owner) and her son Lorenzo were so welcoming and accommodating. Thank you so much for all you did to make our stay in Zurich wonderful!

So, the hotel itself is very plain, nothing fancy. The rooms are functional but not at all up to what I would consider 'standard' based on North American standards. The hotel is located in the heart of the entertainment district and as there isn't any air conditioning, the nightlife kept us up until well past our normal 'bed time'. So, future guests should be aware of this. If you like to party, this location is perfect for you.

Zurich is an expensive city, so you don’t get as much there as you would in Germany. Our room had access to an outdoor patio, which improved the experience overall. Otherwise it was a pretty plain room and the bathroom was rather cramped
