Beautiful and stunning location and scenery. Clean and efficient. Dining staff & Brewery staff very attentive and helpful. Had to wait for room availability to check-in. Front desk staff took name/phone # to notify us when room was ready, but other people after us got checked in. Never received a call-back notification and checked in 3 hours later.

Beautiful and Iconic Place

We fell in love with Vermont! This hotel was high on my bucket list as a life long Von Trapp/ Sound of Music fan. The resort is itself is so cute, well maintained, amazing views and has tons of things to do. We went on the historical tour and got to meet Kristina Von Trapp, the granddaughter of the Captain and Maria (definitely the highlight of our trip). We definitely plan on returning.

I wanted to mention Jay at the main entrance was a pleasure to talk with giving us interesting details on how Maria wanted the property kept from animals to flowers. This is our second time here and it’s wonderful! There is plenty to do on the property and also in Stowe! A must see if you are a fan of The Sound of Music!

The buffet breakfast is quite nice. The place is full of “Sound of Music” lore. The wine tasting (Wednesdays and Saturdays) is well done and comes with five wine, cheese, crackers, and fruit. Don’t miss the “history” lecture with a trip to the family graveyard. Really enjoyed the entire stay.
