The room was okay for in one night. The front desk guy was weird af when i checked in. Wouldnt tell me which direction the room faced so i knew where to park my car. And then after i checked in i went to grabbed some food, when i came back he stopped me in the hall way saying i forgot to sign something. Which i haddnt. He had me resign all over again and then couls understand my questions about the new document i was signing. It was just weired. The whole 3rd floor smelled like food. The room was clean and the bed was comfy but for the price it was too much. Good for one night in a pinch.

Front lobby is large and accommodated families to be able to play games and socialize in the breakfast/lobby area outside during the evening. Rooms outdated and floor had not been vacuumed. Requested and they accommodated.

Hotel is dated and could use some sprucing up. Room was very clean, beds and pillows comfortable and hot water adequate. Breakfast was decent, typical free buffet. I would stay here again.

The facility was clean and convenient for our trip. The entry key stopped working and I could not find staff to reset it. Nice breakfast but again no staff to get help on questions and needs. We got by. The checkin fellow was efficient and friendly. The owner need to clone him.

Fixer upper

It’s an older hotel but did the job. We all slept fine, shared a meal, enjoyed a pool only ( hot tub broken). If you don’t like to glamour this is not your place.

Love this place its our go to. This time though the hot tub and pool were closed and i was looking forward to that for my back injury. I dont know what it is about Ames they have motels that close their pools etc. The top of the fridge was very dusty and someone had wrote stuff in it other then that the staff was wonderful the room was spacious we will return.
