When we arrived to the hotel, there were fans in our room and a non working A/C. They offered to downgrade us as there was not another suite available. I cancelled the booking and stayed at another location .

Was great! The last teo nights we did keep smelling like some kind of smoke in our room. When we called to let them know, they just sprayed an aerosol in the room which only covered it temporarily... smelled like someone was smoking.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn for my daughter’s basketball tournament, along with other team families. The hotel looked clean and was in a convenient location, but the experience was disappointing. On our last night, there was no hot water in half the hotel. We were told we couldn’t move rooms and had to wait for it to be fixed—which meant no showers that night. The water was still cold the next morning, and we had to leave without properly getting ready. When I asked about compensation, staff said there was nothing they could do and that management would follow up. I never heard from anyone. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The lack of communication, poor service, and no resolution for such a major issue made for a very frustrating stay.

We were double booked possibly because Someone had key access to our room at 3am and tried breaking into our room. Luckily I had latch on. Security didn’t come up until 30 min later and front office was very casual about it. Very sad how this was handled. We could have been hurt by these people who were aggressive about getting into our room.

OVERCHARGED

It was a nice stay, however we were overcharged for the room. I booked the room through hotels.com at the rate they had listed. When I checked out of the hotel they charged me a different rate. I called to talk to someone at the hotel about it and I was transferred to 3 different people and then left on hold for over 30 minutes. I tried calling back and no one would take my call. I reached out to hotels.com and they tried contacting the property and the property even ignored them! Unbelievable!!

Rooms are clean and comfortable. Hotel is very well kept. One staff member recommended a great place for dinner. The girl that checked us out was not very personable in the way that she spoke. The location to Sandy Hook is the real reason we like going to this property. We’ve always chosen this hotel, however, this stay has made us think otherwise. As we entered our room, there was an awful smell that didn’t go away our whole stay and they were sold out so we couldn’t move. The air conditioner in the bedroom part of our suite wouldn’t get cold. And the tv had maybe 3 working channels, which with kids was hard. And we went to throw our clothes into the laundry and was informed they weren’t working. Positives, are that the staff is wonderful, area is nice and they have a decent breakfast.

I asked for the manager the entire time I’ve been there but the manager “didn’t work today” each day. The room smelled like pee and I couldn’t figure it out. The sheets were clean I told them the first night they said they were all booked and couldn’t do anything about it. The next morning I woke up to make my bed to discover they had made the bed with clean sheets but a dirty URINATED ON mattress cover!!!!! I slept on someone else’s urine for a whole night!!!
