Disgusting Carpet

We had a corner king & the view is about the only amazing thing about this room. The carpet was beyond disgusting. The list is too long of things wrong . The saving grace is the hotel staff. They were all very kind and professional .

They kept running out of breakfast items and there wasn’t anywhere to sit. The property is very clean but extremely outdated, more so than what the pictures indicate.

This property had s hidden dog fee. I chose this property because the total cost was less than the other options with their per dog fees. When i checked in they added $15 per dog fees that were not covered in the policies before i chose this property.

Great location

Great location, super quiet even though we were close to main highways and the bridge! Lovely view of the river and marina. Very clean with a comfy bed. Would definitely stay here again.

“Pictures are a bait and switch”.. The sheets were clean and bed comfy..other than that , ugh..breakfast was offered but lumpy eggs, greasy sausage and for “Oregon coffee connoisseur” was awful! Room has not changed since 1970 during filming of “Goonies”, (pictures needs to be updated)..needed to wear socks everywhere carpet was dirty, bathroom cracked sink, dirty bath..and to add to things found, dried up dog poop behind the dirty chairs!! Although the staff was friendly..one needs to spend their hard earned $180 somewhere else..or by pass Astoria altogether!!

A total surprise on how the prior Red Lion now the Astoria River Inn has deteriorated throughout the years (decades). It’s not been maintained and it shows. Would not recommend staying here it is unsanitary and in need of deep cleaning inside & out. The beds & bedding need to be replaced. Will not stay there again, there are better lodging in the area.

Initially I was disappointed because they charged $25 for getting there before the 4pm check-in although the room was ready. Which I’ve never experienced before. They said we could return closer to 4pm to avoid the fee. When we went to the room the carpet was stained and well worn, another disappointment. But the furnishings were all right, we booked a second floor premier suite which included a 2nd bathroom and separate bedroom, fireplace, fridge and microwave. Two outdoor balconies overlooking the moorage which was very pleasant. The area is located at the more industrial edge of the River Walk. There was a trolly stop and I read they offered free bikes but I did not see any and it was never mentioned. It was bit over a mile walk to the Maritme Museum and Uptown area.
