Check-in was difficult as the rooms (we had three rooms reserved) were not ready until after 4:00 pm. Sadly no complimentary upgrades were available! We had an older couple in our group and they needed a walk-in shower (no tub/shower combo) and that was discussed when the room was reserved, however when we arrived they were put into a room with a tub/shower! We arrived early and were told if they wanted a room right away that they had an upgraded room available with a walk-in shower for an additional $60 per night (#303) which we declined with the understanding that they had a room reserved with a walk-in shower. When we checked in after 4:00 we were told their room did not have a walk-in shower and they would have to pay $90 per night to upgrade to room #203! So their room ended up being very expensive and they complained about how bright it was overnight as there are not curtains on the whole window and the street lights were very bright. The rooms were quite noisy as we were able to hear the neighbors coughing and talking! It is a pretty hotel and walking around for shops, bars and restaurants was nice.

Historic details make a unique experience The facilities are somewhat modernized while keeping with the original look of the hotel. Some things you might expect at a mid-to -upscale hotel are not up to par such as an exercise room, which had a single piece of equipment plus a few dumbbells. Breakfast is not included but there is a close by bakery that is good also. The AC unit above third floor. rooms was noisy with a constant rumble. You might find street parking, but the hotel lot is blocks away

Great location downtown that we didn't even know existed for baker city. Great historical hotel, well kept, friendly, loved it, and not on the hiway in and around small mom and pop stores off the beaten path

Unfortunately, I have to rate this hotel poorly primarily based on the very poor condition of the furniture in our suite room. The chair was so bad you wouldn’t find it in a cheap motel. The sofa was hard and lumpy. Couldn’t sit on it to watch a movie. The king bed mattress also needed to be replaced, you could feel the inner springs. Street parking was only available around the block. Breakfast was not offered because there wasn’t a cook available. There were a number of other smaller inconveniences, like no remote control for the VCR and a terrible coffee maker. We booked for 3 nights but left after 2 nights even though we had already paid in full. Not the comfortable getaway we had hoped. The hotel was clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. My advice stay elsewhere and have dinner in the lovely dining room.

Room was beautiful. Hotel and service was fantastic. The only downside was the low constant hum I kept hearing, HVAC? We were on the 3rd floor, so maybe the location of the room.

Gorgeous property, excellent staff, breakfast perfectly cooked and comfortable beds. Only downside is if you can't find parking on the street and don't want to use valet parking their parking area is a bit far.

My Stay at the Grand Old Lady of Baker City

I love staying at these grand old "ladies" of travel accommodations. Geiser is one of the best. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. The reception could have been more helpful but it was ok.

Cute… great location and would stay again.

I was in a handicap room. It was a sweet hotel. Only issue could not get tv to work (even with the directions… yes directions) also the ventilation fan was scraping metal off and on all Night the final night.
