Tub/shower, sheets, pillows, blankets, etc all appeared clean. All staff we interacted with were friendly. The flowers, lawn, and plants made the motel so much nicer. It’s a great location in downtown Bar Harbor with easy access to Acadia. We would stay there again. We didn’t hear people talking through the walls to the sides of us but we could hear walking noises and bed noises from directly above us. When in the bathroom, you can sometimes hear other people talking. The water pressure was good. Water from the tap tasted good. One bed was a little more comfortable than the other. If you get back to the hotel after dark, you may have to be creative with where you park when the motel is full. No bugs seen indoors. The room darkening curtains don’t prevent the all of the outdoor light from shining in the room.

Our room was clean and had a mini fridge and microwave. The bathroom was a bit outdated but clean. We were able to walk downtown Bar Harbor without having to deal with parking.

We stayed here one night and it was amazing. The hotel appears to be recently renovated and was very clean. It was very quiet. Our only complaint is that the sun rises very early and there are not blackout curtains on the rear so the room was very bright. The bonus is that it gave us an early start to explore the park.

Not a fancy hotel with a bunch of extras, but a very well-kept motel with attentive staff and more affordable than the fancy hotels. Everything in downtown Bar Harbor is walkable, and Acadia is just a few minutes away. A great home base for several days exploring Acadia by day and the surrounding communities at night.

We made a snap decision to get off the highway and go to Bar Harbor on our way home from Presque Isle. We chose the Anchorage because it’s within walking distance to everything in town and 7 minutes away from the park. The price is exactly right for what you get which is a clean room, clean sheets and a shower. The front desk ladies were lovely and they had coffee in the am. Perfect for us for just a night of sleep and a shower.

We were greeted by a very friendly woman and all of the other people working here were extremely friendly and helpful! Our room was very clean and the bed, very comfortable. The location is excellent! Close to everything and so nice to not have to drive. I highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

The Anchorage was perfect for our 4-night stay. Convenient to shops & restaurants, easy parking, straight shot out of town across the island / into Acadia. HOT shower, perfect after a chilly hike. The service was outstanding & the lobby coffee was surprisingly good. Susie was such a huge help & gave us great ideas for the day when a storm upended our plans. If it’s your first visit to Bar Harbor, you’ll sort of realize that like many / most of the hotels on the island, the building isn’t new. Renovated & clean, but not new. It’s just a different vibe & if you know that going in, you’ll have a great time.
