Go back in time as you travel 32 miles offshore to America's emerald isle, Beaver Island. Unspoiled. Unhurried. Unbelievable! The island is 55 square miles of gravel roads and rustic beauty. When you come to the island, you are getting away from the conveniences that city life offers and enjoying the benefits and beauty of the natural world. Take the ferry or plane from Charlevoix, MI to experience paradise.

Comfortable, spacious and relaxing 1 bedroom/1 bathroom carriage house apartment on north end of the island. Amenities include: Wifi, smart Roku TV for streaming, full kitchen (no dishwasher,) gas grill, firepit, private deck, towels and linens are provided. Laundry use is available at the main house. Very clean and comfortable. Enjoy this quiet corner of the island, still close to town but tucked away in a wooded area. Newly built in 2017. Solid hickory floors throughout. Queen bed in the bedroom, and a queen pull out sofa in living room. Lots of seating in the living space. The kitchen has everything you need for living at home (except a dishwasher.) The apartment is located above our garage and has a separate entrance and deck. Enjoy being outdoors using the fire pit and gas grill. You are a short walk away from lake Michigan (rocky shoreline) where you can swim and take in the sunrise and sunset. The space is located 2 miles from town and also 2 miles from Donegal Bay, which is a wonderful beach for swimming and sunsets. Check in is at 3:00 p.m. and check out is at 10:00 a.m. We are pet free and do not allow cats or dogs. Thank you for understanding.

I do recommend having a car to explore the island. If you choose to bring your own vehicle over contact bibco.com (Beaver Island Boat Company) for ferry schedule and rates. You can bring your car over on the ferry and will need to make a reservation for it. They start taking reservations in January and summer dates fill up quickly as there is limited space for cars. There are two places to rent cars on the island...
Burton car rentals (they also rent electric bikes) 231-838-2883.
Duffy's car rental 231-448-3132.
Keep in mind that these are individuals who rent cars, not car companies. Our island is very dusty with its gravel roads, you may not have the same type of car rental experience that you do on the mainland. Call ahead for reservations.
The island is 13 miles long and 6 miles wide. If you are content in walking and relaxing in town, you will still have an enjoyable time. Rent bikes, kayaks or paddle boards in town and enjoy spending time on the water.

Becca and Bryan's place is stellar!! It has everything you need and it's in a prime location. It's cozy, clean, inviting, close to town, near the beach, surrounded by woods, and has several amenities. We used the fire pit (wood provided!), the bbq grill (propane provided!), and enjoyed our morning coffee on the balcony every morning. I also really appreciated the fan in the bedroom window and the ceiling fans. I highly recommend this rental and I hope to stay here again in the future!

This place was ADORABLE and very comfortable. Thoughtfully decorated with plenty of seating. Great air flow, even on a very warm summer weekend. Clean & well-stocked kitchen. The Starry Night guesthouse is wonderful, and the hosts are lovely! We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The guesthouse was warm and inviting and had all the comforts of home. This is an absolutely beautiful place, lovingly built and lovingly maintained. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and had everything we needed plus plenty more. I can't say with certainty how big it is, but the point is that it feels spacious, roomy, airy, and with plenty of light, both natural and from overhead fixtures. Of course, we spent most of our time outside, biking and swimming, but we absolutely loved and enjoyed coming back to this place. Just as description says - spacious and relaxing. The location is perfect, short drive or bike ride to town and a short drive/bike ride to a beautiful sandy beach at Donegal Bay. The house is literally 2 minutes walk from the lake and one can swim there too, although the bottom is rocky there, so we favored the beach at Donegal Bay. Last but definitely not least, Becca and Bryan are amazing hosts who made us feel welcome as if we were good family or friends. We can't thank them enough for hosting us and for their kindness. We are already looking forward to come again next year.

Cute Stay Close to Town

Wonderful apartment, very well designed & beautiful, aLao easy to find and only a couple miles out of town. This was our first time on the island, and they provided us with lots of great tips about getting there and getting around. Would definitely book again!

Beautiful and relaxing getaway!

Bryan and Becca were great hosts! They made the check in and out process as easy as it could possibly be, and they were always easy to reach over the phone. The guest house had everything we needed - all we had to bring was our standard luggage and a few groceries. The house was very very clean and thoughtfully decorated. They also included a basket of maps, pamphlets, and more for us to really make the most of our trip. Overall, we simply couldn't have asked for a better stay. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would!

A perfect retreat

Starry Night is a fantastic, wonderfully decorated garage apartment with a great kitchen and living spaces. The porch is terrific and it is only a short bike to town or the beach. We loved our stay here - can't wait to return!

Wonderful Location

Starry Night was the perfect place to stay if you want to be secluded yet close to town. It was also within walking distance to North Shore Park where you could take a stroll down to the water. This property was quaint and clean...I would absolutely stay again!

Peaceful and beautiful location. Lovely and easy bike ride to town. We attended the Beaver Island Music Festival which was an amazing experience. Our hosts Becca and Brian are very involved in the community and are the best resources for anything and everything!

Beautiful quiet getaway

The Starry Night is a bright, tidy unit above the garage, less than a 10-minute bike ride from the ferry and the main drag. Becca and Brian are excellent hosts. It's quiet, spacious, and a great home base for exploring the island. Would be glad to make a return visit!
