Cheap Hotels in Blackwells

The property was fine. My only issue was that there was no parking on site. Valet was our only option and we weren’t made aware. Saying that you have valet parking available doesn’t mean that’s ALL you have available. Then for it to be $60/day??? None of that was expressed in my itinerary?? I would’ve stayed somewhere else. Walking 15 minutes for affordable parking is insane. Valet is crazy because you obviously have parking, but want extra from someone who’s paying for a room already. Just give assign spots at that point. It’s pure greed. I won’t be staying there again if I’m being honest. I know there are plenty others in Atlanta. I was here to visit my mom, and that whole parking stuff really put a strain on how we were able to move. I’m not too fond of that.

Staff was outstanding

The room was good, but I had some issues with parking. I was asked to park at adjacent parking location, which was fine, but the elevator there wasn’t working. I ended up finding a free spot on the 6th floor, which turned out to be quite inconvenient. It would’ve been helpful if they had informed me about the elevator situation before charging for parking, so I could’ve made an informed decision

Property was very clean. Staff very nice.

Upon arrival (Friday, 9:45 pm), valet was extremely crowded. Apparently, The Starling is a popular night life spot. When I finally made my way to the valet, I wasn't greeted. A security guard informed me it would be more affordable to self park if I didn't plan to go in and out multiple times ($30 vs. $69 for valet). The music in the lobby was uncomfortably loud and I had to the man at the front desk to constantly repeat himself. He also didn't give me any of the requisite details (i.e. explaining the incidental hold, wifi info, restaurant info, etc.) while his counterpart was very thorough with the guest he was checking in. The room underwhelming--it was basic and simple, with an overly soft bed and pillows, and terrible lighting. The next morning, I woke up late and asked the front desk to have housekeeping come to my room. A note was made, but my room was never cleaned. On Sunday, I went to breakfast at the hotel's restaurant which was excellent. The ladies working at the restaurant were enthusiastic, kind, excited, and knowledgeable. Nicole attended to me and she was fantastic! I would stay here again, but only at a discounted rate. It wasn't bad for $378 for 2 nights/3 days. You're mostly paying for the location (which is excellent).

Horrible parking because of events held at hotel! Pool was extremely cold and needed to be cleaned.
