See if you can find better in advance.

Things you should know before choosing the Berkley Hotel. Valet parking is the only parking the hotel has available to you. The price of the parking ( not listed in the information is $90 a night) so if you felt you had a good rate per night add $90 to it unless you are going to drop off your things & family & go into the town to find parking. I was 6 blocks. There is no food in walking distance after 10. The only snack vending machine is on the ground floor down the hallway & only takes change. Find somewhere else to eat a breakfast of your choice. You camt bring in outside food to the pool area yet the menu is limited. The air conditioning is okay the WiFi was terrible. I could deal with the above but on the last night from 10pm until 11am the next day the smoke alarm went off every 5 minutes saying battery low. I called the front desk no one came I went to the front desk nothing & called again needless to say I didn’t sleep. The young lady that answered in the morning finally had someone come as we checked out. I asked that my money be refunded for the last night due to the noise lack of service & hot room that no one offered to change me to a new room. I was told they could not refund that night. From my experience do your homework on the hotels in advance. There are a lot of hotels & B&Bs that have free parking breakfast bike rentals & places u can store your food when everything is closed or if you have special dietary needs.

We had to change rooms due to bugs in the window. Room had view of the ocean. Next room was smaller and no view. Then the hair dryer was quite dirty and did not work. Had to track down housekeeping to get a new one. The staff is very nice and accommodating

Not sure who's at fault, but that shouldn't be my problem. 1st: i reserved a room with an ocean view, nope. I got a great view of all the HVAC units for the building. In addition to seeing them we got to hear them all night long, starting and shutting off. 2nd: i was told parking was avaliable. Anywhere i have stayed in the past description tell you the cost, or that there will be a cost. 75 per day was a little excessive in my view. Staff was polite but abrupe in manner. The bell hop was the nicest of the crew. When it came to getting my car it was lime watching the 3 stuges. No one has a clue whe the other was doing. It took 20 mins to pull the car around the building from the secure lot, that had no fence, and no attendent. Might have had cameras, but i can tell you i walked by my car several times durring my stay.

Valet parking price was crazy! $90 is NYC prices . Thankfully there are lots around as well as cheaper street parking. That being said valet personnel were very welcoming to the property
