The inn was like taking a step back in time with a few modern updates. I was pleasantly surprised that the room really looked like the photos.

The outside looks like it could be the Rose Bud Motel from Schitts creek. We were happy with the cleanliness and size. Bed was fine and check in and out was quick. Priced better than almost everything in the area so don’t expect luxury but a fine place for the night.

The property was very run down with old beds and even older sheets!! We had a 2 night reservation and only stayed one night. In the middle of the first night the smoke alarm began going off. It went off every half hour so we got no sleep. There was no staff there to help during the night and when someone finally took down the alarm, they didn't care at all that we were inconvenienced. Then we had a giant spider on the bed and we were pretty much done with the place at that point. When I spoke with the front desk person she basically said, oh well! They were not going to refund any of my money. Terrible way to do business. We felt like we were at the Bates Motel!!

We have stayed at Hyland Motor Inn numerous times. The staff from check in to cleaning were friendly and helpful. Always clean, well stocked with towels and bathroom amenities. Highly recommend!

There is nothing fancy about the Hyland, but it is perfect for a little getaway. A short drive to the beach and shopping. I like the change to laminate floors, made the room smell and feel cleaner. The beds are just okay, but perfect for our needs. It was quiet even though it is adjacent to Parkway. We did not use the pool although it is dated, it was clean.
