This 3 bedroom plus study Beach Cottage style home decorated with the nautical flare of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard is sure to delight the most discriminating guest. Located very near the beach in Captiva's Village, breezy porches offer a serene place to relax with a book or dine al fresco. Custom design elements and architectural enhancements add interesting detail to every room.

Spend your days on the beach, then walk to the Mucky Duck for live music, a sunset drink, or dinner in Captiva. Rent a boat at the Marina or arrange a guided fishing expedition. Sanibel is just a short drive away, with its shops, restaurants, bike paths, and amazing shelling. Enjoy the Ding Darling Wildlife Preserve, where you can sea kayak through mangrove islands and view rare birds and other wildlife. Much of Sanibel/Captiva is a wildlife preserve; this paradise is yours to explore.

By The Sea is the perfect vacation home for active families, reunions of friends, or a weekend getaway. Especially suited to adult guests, who will appreciate the unique decor and attention to detail. Visitors will enjoy the relaxed pace, and low-key style of Captiva. The soft sands and warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico are less than 1 block away. By The Sea den area was changed to a queen bed. There is now a bedroom with a king bed, a bedroom with twins, and a bedroom with a queen bed. There are two full bathrooms.

Two berth-type child beds are in the study. These are narrower than twin beds but well suited to children, teens, or young adults.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week. The house is well appointed and a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and the general store. The pool was a refreshing cool down after the beach and fishing. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing stay on Captiva Island.

Perfect location with the beach, restaurant, and shops just a few steps away! The kitchen was well stocked with lots of utensils and cookware. The bathrooms could use some TLC, but overall it was a very comfortable house for our family. Perfect getaway in Captiva!

Beautiful property in a perfect location. Seconds from the beach. Private pool in the backyard was great. Comfortable accommodations. Location is a short walk to the village of Captiva. We enjoyed area restaurants, bike ride in the nature preserve, parasailing, and soaking up the sun at the beach and pool. Also rented a golf cart which added to the whole experience. Highly recommend this wonderful property.

A wonderful two weeks.

My wife, son and his girlfriend stayed here for two weeks. It's a great location - close to the beach and close to the restaurants and shops in town - easy walking distance to both. And yet the neighborhood itself is very quiet. The house was adequately equipped with cleaning supplies when we arrived and clean. And the interior decorating is very cool. The house is ideal for a family with two small kids. If you had more kids or guests it might be a little tight as the other people would have to sleep on the pull out couch which is not ideal. Overall it is a great place. I would definitely stay here again next time we go.

Beautiful house close to beach

I recently stayed at this property with my husband and two small children and the house was perfect. It is really a beautiful and fun place to stay in a great location only a very short walk from the beach and restaurants/shops. The house was private and the closest beach never crowded.
