This was a very charming place to stay at. The staff was friendly and were accommodating when we needed a late check-in time. We also brought our dog and liked that there were several pet-friendly rooms. Would definitely stay here again if we're back in Gainesville!

This was our fifth visit to Sweetwater Branch Inn. Three times we were in the Cushman-Colson house, and twice in the McKenzie house. We were planning to stay in a cottage but it was not available at the last minute. We always feel so welcome here. It is walking distance to several restaurants and a park. We love to stay here when travelling through Gainesville for the individual, unique rooms in these historic, lovingly restored mansions. The grounds are beautiful and I often enjoy the outdoor pool. The hot breakfast is always a treat. We hope to return again! People who have problems with stairs may note there are a few ground floor rooms in the Cushman-Coleman house and the cottages are all on the ground floor. We are in our 70s and have happily stayed on the 2nd and 3rd floors with no stairs issues, but be aware there are no elevators on the property.

We stayed at the Sweetwater Branch Inn in Gainesville, FL this weekend in the Piccadilly Suite, and absolutely fell in love with the place. The suite was charming, spotless, and full of character — it felt like stepping back in time but with all the modern comfort you’d want. The staff were genuinely warm and attentive, and breakfast was top-notch — fresh, homemade, and served in a beautiful dining area. The grounds are stunning too, with peaceful gardens and cozy spots to relax. If you’re visiting Gainesville and want something way more memorable than a typical hotel, this is it. We can’t wait to come back.
