I will do a Cliff note version since I only have 1500 letters. It was a dump and service was horrible. We were not greeted upon entry, the man at the front desk was lazy and dressed like he was going to a BBQ and struggled for words, we had to get our keys activated 10 times in three days, the air conditioning quit working, the TV remote didn’t work, the snack machines didn’t work, they refused to switch out our room when our air-conditioning went out, the strips in the bottom on the bathtub were black from dirt, there was no plastic shower curtain only cloth. They didn’t reach all the way a claw across the bathtub, causing the floor to be soaked. The towel bar fell apart when I gently moved the washcloth over to plug in my blow dryer, and after having to reach out to the guy at the front desk, a half a dozen times he had the audacity to say that he can’t believe how much everybody is complaining. I would’ve rather slept in my car.

Rooms were nice but would prefer a more modern foam mattress. The AC would only run for a little while then shut off, despite turning the dial to the coldest setting. I would have preferred if the room had been cooler to sleep. Good value though for the area.

Great place to stay for the price!

I admit we didn't expect much. For the price we had hoped to get a moderately clean, decently comfy-ish room, with hopefully working wifi and maybe even donuts for breakfast. But we were very pleasantly surprised. Admittedly the outside looks a bit like an abandoned building, but the inside is nicely decorated and comfy. Our beds were comfy, our room was clean, and all the assorted bits and bobs worked (although the fridge froze everything solid!). The pool was clean and not too crowded, and the weekend breakfast offered a surprising array of choices - yoghurt, cereal, eggs, bagels, biscuits and gravy, bacon, potatoes (these were admittedly pretty terrible), fruit, coffee and juice, scones, plus a few other things I'm probably forgetting. In the interest of full disclosure, the backdoor to the building was supposed to be accessible with your room keycard, but the lock was covered over with a thick slab of tape, so anyone could get in and out at any time. Also, the chain lock inside the room was broken. So from a security standpoint, it's probably not the safest location. Then again, Ishpeming isn’t widely known for it's frequent serial murders, so you'll probably be fine. All in all, for the price you pay, you get more than your money's worth, and we were very happy. We will definitely stay here again.

Good location for recreation and airport

Enjoyed the quiet clean room. It was a good stop along my multi day journey across northern Michigan. It is close to a great trail, the Iron Ore Heritage Trail, and the nice little towns of Ishpeming and Negaunee, and not too far from the larger Marquette. It worked well as a place to stay before flying out of the Marquette airport the next day , which is only 25 mins away. I rented an e-bike from a shop in Negaunee, Love and Bikes.

Nice big piece property. Cute looking cabins. I stayed in a room in main building. Lobby was very nice. Breakfast was better than average. But the carpet was gross. The towels were dingy with tiny dots of rust. So a couple things about hotels in the UP. Their busy seasons are short. Their clientele are rough on hotels. Snowmobilers, mountain bikers, people who just camped rough for a week, travelling hockey teams. They have tried very hard to upgrade the property but it looks closed when you drive up. The landscape is neglected, it looks a little run down and it isn’t very inviting. The lobby was updated but seemed very dark. The inside is cheaply updated but just doesn’t feel cozy. The command strips were still on the wall with no picture. The room next door had the picture fall of the wall during the night. The furniture was cheap and bubbling from moisture. It just felt dingy. We paid almost $200 per night and I expected a nicer hotel for the price. I would expect to pay half of that for what we got. On the other hand, it seems clean and staff was friendly. Close to restaurants.

Highly Recommend

Friendly staff and very helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. I got a goodnight's sleep on the king size mattress which was much needed before our trek thru the Porcupine Mountains State Park. Would definitely stay here again.

The property was well situated near the hospital where we had an appointment. Our room was clean as were the common areas. Being a bit older building we could hear hallway noise and people walking around in the room above us. That being said we would stay there again as things were well cared for and the location is good.

Clean room, nice bed. Noise from adjoining rooms - or above - transferred into our room...not enough sound deadening in the walls/floors. Room AC/heater controls were worn out. Just a one night stay as we passed through.

I would stop again if in the area. But there was a couple of things that were not the best. When we pulled up to the hotel I wasn't sure it was even open. The front of the building had no indication of it being open. There is no elevator. It made getting the suitcase to the second floor a little difficult. The room picked up a lot of noises all evening, into the night. The bathroom was clean except around the tub on the floor edge and where it meets in the corner
