College Reunion Visit

I was very satisfied and pleased with my visit to the Brandywine River Hotel after an initial problem. When I went to the room that I was assigned, it appeared that someone was in that room. The beds were open with sheets and pillows scattered and on the floor and other items made it look like someone was still using the room. When I returned to the sign in desk, the representative apologized and reassigned me to another room that was clean and in very good condition.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was very convenient to Longwood gardens and the Brandywine museum. There is a great Italian restaurant that you can walk to from the hotel. I highly recommend both the restaurant (Antica) and the hotel!

The breakfast was pretty bad because of very low quality baked goods-which, unfortunately, is like most hotels in the USA now days. The cheap food & coffee did not match the quality of the rest of the property. It was very comfortable and I'd go back but would plan to have my coffee & breakfast at the coffee shop right in front of the hotel.

Unacceptable response from Hotel owner

Traveling with another couple, we had booked two rooms. Upon entering the rooms we immediately felt each room was excessively hot the moment we opened the door. We tried to control the temperature but the thermostat appeared to be broken. We went downstairs to advise the person at the desk who was very gracious and called the owner. The owner told the employee to give us each a fan, which we knew would not make a dent in the heat. As the employee was attempting to explain the situation, the owner hung up on him. We felt sorry for the employee as he was at a loss to help us. Evidently the air conditioning was not working and the owner was not going to make any attempt to correct the problem. We were unable to stay there and had to scramble for another place to stay. I have traveled all 48 states using Hotels.com and have never experienced such poor service. Also, the dates posted are incorrect. Our reservations were for Monday, April 14 through April 16

I had just proposed to my girlfriend so we stayed in the Honeymoon suite. Everything was literally perfect until it was time to actually go to bed and there was no fan no air conditioning nothing we had to sleep with the windows open and even that wasn’t enough . The hotel is great, one of the best, but no air conditioning killed me, I ended up waking up early Even before breakfast and went home.

Quiet with great location

Lovely 1night stay while traveling through the area. Front desk staff was super helpful and professional, breakfast in the morning was good and location to battlefields, shopping and restaurants very convenient. Improvement request: exhaust fan in bathroom and AC / fan to move air in room - we were thankful the windows opened.
