Very convenient to transportation 7 minute walk from train station & bus to airport across the road. I had a standard room which was only lacking a fridge no where to chill bottles of water etc and a problem with the ac I had a fan for the first night then problem fixed for thr rest of my stay. Luxury comfortable room at the heart of the city on Princes Street next to monuments,shops,restaurants and railway station. Amazing view from the bar and restaurant. Breakfast was delicious.

Comfortable and well maintained property close to the rail station. Very walkable to the Royal Mile. Nice and helpful hotel staff. The rate seemed a little high but it is a very good overall value during the high travel season. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a lot of options and very good quality. The hotel does a good job in regulating the number of people at breakfast. We discovered that that is important in Edinburgh because the quality of the offerings there could attract a lot of non-Hotel guests. Hotel guests are required to make reservations for breakfast, which is easily done at check-in.

The hotel is in a good location. Walking distance to everywhere. The building looks like under construction, therefore hard to find. Negative note about the room is the AC unit…does not stay on & room gets very warm!

Excellent stay. Location was fabulous - a short walk to all major attractions and public transit outside our door. We had a room with a VIEW and it was outstanding. Room was very clean, front desk was super friendly and responsive to our needs. Breakfast was great too. Bathroom had really nice toiletries which is always appreciated. The Mount Royal is in a perfect location for exploring the city of Edinburgh. The staff were friendly and helpful. The twin room we booked was clean, quiet and spacious. We also had breakfast which was delicious with stunning views over Princess Street, it was also great value for money. We would definitely stay here again. 🙂

Amazing! Highly recommend! Location could not be more convenient and the staff was amazing. I wish I could remember the name of the guy who checked us in. He reminded me of Samwell Tarly from Game of Thrones.. Dark hair, Mid-Twenties, outgoing, cheery and helpful. He was super nice and gave us information about some attractions near by. We asked for an upgrade and he got permission from management to give us a good price for an awesome room with the best views of Old Town. We'd stay at Mount Royal again for sure. Room was clean and newly refurbished. Only thing that would have been nice would've been a small fridge, but no problem. Marks & Spencers was right next door. :)

Perfect location, within walking distance to all the main areas we wanted to visit. Staff couldn't have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was very nice, good variety, lovely view of the castle from the restaurant. Room comfy and very clean. In-room air conditioning which was easy to understand and use. Would definitely return, thank you!
