Wonderful customer service, very clean, very quiet. My only complaint...and it's minor...really hard pillows. Staff was very quick to find softer ones for us. I definitely recommend!

My favourite hotel in Edinburgh

A fabulous stay, mainly down to the staff. It's a lovely hotel, with good food and their own gin, but the staff are so friendly and welcoming that it sets this hotel apart from others. We had a slight noise issue, which was resolved immediately by the night time reception team. The bar team served us quickly, whether it was wine or cocktails and the dining staff couldnt do enough for us. Checking in and out was perfect - everything explained and treated as friends. Love this hotel and will stay again.

It was my first time in Edinburgh and this was a great place to stay. It's modern, spacious, and clean and out of the main tourist drag while still being easily walkable. It's right near the university so there's lots of tasty, affordable food nearby. I was there in February and the heating was out for the first day, so it was pretty chilly, but they gave me a space heater and I bundled up.

We have stayed here before and liked it so much, we came back for a long weekend! The room was lovely with a street view. It is very close to an excellent bus service. Staff were lovely and we managed to get an earlier check-in than 3pm. Food was also great with a large selection to choose from. We will definitely make this our go to hotel, when we come back to Edinburgh!

Great value central Edinburgh hotel

Good central location, and also quiet. Clean and well furnished rooms with plenty of lounge space on the ground floor to sit or meet friends. The heating wasn't working in my room and so I was moved to another room. Unfortunately the heating in that room failed to come on in the morning so that was disappointing. The hotel dealt with it well and refunded my breakfast in recompense.

Heating issue

The hotel was lovely, in an ideal location. The rooms were great and we had a lovely breakfast. Check in was quick. However the heating system was broken we had 6 rooms booked, four of these had no heating and the rooms were very cold. Two of the rooms also had no hot water. We reported this at checkout and were told by one member of staff that she wasn’t aware of the issue. One of our party had called reception in the night and was offered a heater. She was informed that there was an issue and they were trying to fix it.

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff at check in. Bright modern public rooms and good sized bedroom. So handy for the Festival Theatre and a good variety of eating places.
