We traveled from OK to MI for our granddaughter's birthday and decided to stop for the night. I booked a king room at this H.I.Express and Suites on Expedia while my husband drove. Got there, checked in and were given a queen room. I went to the desk and the clerk told me there were no more king rooms available and since we booked through a third party, she couldn't upgrade us. We did not want to be upgraded - only stay in a king room that we booked. Third party or not, this hotel offers it's rooms on that third party site. In addition, the hotel and the room were both in very poor condition. Spent a very uncomfortable night. Absolutely do not recommend. Poor customer service and poor hotel conditions. Hard pass. We travel a lot and book a lot of hotel rooms sometimes directly with the hotel or the brand, and sometimes through a third party site. Will avoid this chain in future.

I liked that I was on the 3rd floor corner room but it was very outdated with stains on the carpeting and curtains. I set the thermostat to 68 and it was 81 in the morning when I woke up. I turned the thermostat off yet it continued to run. An hour later it was still running. The TV would not work. On the plus side the staff were nice and breakfast was included and good.

As always it was good stay, just this time the TV did not work, they have a weird system and did not work the two days that I stayed. Breakfast was good, and they need to do a little more effort to clean the snow in the parking lot.

The room was ok, the size was good and the bed comfortable. The shower curtain was bolted to the wall....but appeared to be coming off the wall so the shower curtain Slid to the middle and it was a struggle to keep water off the floor...also appeared this was an issue for awhile. Told the front desk about the issue the first night....but never heard anything else. Pool is in rough condition and the water was murky.

Room looked like there may have been dog poop in the corner. Staff was very friendly. Elevator floor was sticky and did not smell very good. Did not eat breakfast left before dining area opened.
