BEWARE! This hotel with RIP YOU OFF! The management does not work with people who have travel delays and will steal your money! We were looking for a nice hotel with a pool for the last leg of a long trip. We chose the Best Western Paradise Inn. But on the trip we were delayed through no fault of our own due to a traffic mishap which resulted in a 24-hour delay. We contacted the hotel. They would not rebook our stay for the next day and said they would charge us a full cancellation fee. We then called Expedia, who we booked the hotel with. They said it was the hotel's policy to not allow refunds, even if you were just delayed a day. We called the hotel directly and spoke with the front desk person who said he was the manager and then another person who said he was the General Manager. I asked if we could just stay 24 hours later. No, they blamed Expedia. And around and around we went. Mind you, I wanted to say, just 24 hours later. Of course the General Manager would book us another day but charge us full price. I even called Best Western corporate. They said it was this hotel's policy. So basically we ended up paying for a night's stay when we didn't even get to stay here! No apology, no flexibility. All the other hotels along our trip were fine and happy to accommodate us. So, I do not recommend booking at this hotel.

I didn't realize this was a motel, but it didn't harm the stay. Breakfast is made to order, which is cool, but the menu feels stringent; it says things like "no substitutions" and each menu option tells you exactly what you're going to get. I didn't ask, but I suspect you can only order one entree per person per morning. Drinks, however, I was able to order both coffee and a drink for my food, so it wasn't worth complaining about. The shower was... poorly designed, but passable, and there were no issues with water pressure. Bathroom ventilation was poor considering it's a motel and could easily vent directly to the outside. The surrounding area smelled like what I assume is farm life but may have been a failed sewage cleanup, though there's not much the hotel can do about that, and inside smelled fine. I notice pretty much the whole state smells that way.

Condition of property was awful compared to the photos it felt like a bait n switch. We were in need of a place to stay in bad weather too but couldn’t get into parking lot it was being tarred over and not well lit as to where rooms were. When we drove by pool area we knew we had been duped. ‘resort’ misnomer. Looked like no one at the motel - no one. It didn’t feel safe to check in. So we moved on. The town had signs welcome to hell keep going that was not fun to see The Eatery was the o my redeeming factor down the street had character convenient store combo with bar restaurant. They gave us referral to quality inn in Fillmore which wasn’t on Expedia list and met basic standards.

Hidden gem

This is a great hidden gem of a place to stay. Very comfortable and easy parking made it very welcome during our road trip. We will plan our drives to stay here again.
