This is a very nice, historic hotel situated downtown, so shopping, eating, exploring are a breeze. The rooms are gorgeous, spacious, and well decorated. I came up just to visit with a friend, so I wanted a leisurely experience. The parking is slightly tricky, around the corner and with a hill and stairs. I got a balcony room - which looks out onto the parking lot - they should say that on the website. The appliances in the room were not all in working order (fridge was warm, bathroom fan did not come on), and it was dusty around and under the beds, causing some sneezing. Everything seemed to cost "extra" despite the high cost. They also hold $25 for "incidentals." I didn't get a chance to eat at the rooftop restaurant due to rain, so I had to go to their other restaurant. Food was good enough. All together I had a fine time, figured out how to get around some of the oddities, and enjoyed my stay. But for the price, I'm not convinced it was worth the hype.

Dinner at the Taproot Tavern was outstanding as was the view from the rooftop bar. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the hotel was so charming! I felt pampered during my stay and would be excited to stay here again!

We loved the beautiful old building in the heart of historic Farmville. Also were very happy with the spacious modern bathroom with walk in shower. Lemon water and coffee always available in the lobby was appreciated when we returned from exploring the town. We will go back.

Hotel was nice. There was some lack of updated information with the restaurants. One restaurant was closed with no sign the other pamphlet in the room with a QR code to scan to order only came up with a drink selection. Also it is a bit of a hike from the parking lot to the hotel entrance.

Worst Stay Ever

The hotel itself is beautiful because it’s historic but the service is terrible. I had mold in my room. Maintenance left cups in the room that we checked into. The door looks as if it had been kicked in before. We had to fetch our own towels and stand watch for the bed linens to be changed. This was my fourth stay and the worst. Management did refund half on each night I stayed.i had anoth family member that had to change rooms 4 times and another that stayed only one night because they weren’t pleased. The hotel needs some repairs and the service needs to improve or they’re going to lose business. Our family reunion is in the month of July every year and my family are already planning to stay somewhere else next year. And top thing off my husband use to work there as a teenager.

Very dissatisfied with the rooms and service I was moved 3 times first room had spiders second room the air conditioner wasn’t working properly third room the tv wasn’t working I will never stay there again and will not recommend. It’s a unique old building which is cool. Close to things to do. The room was very hot and humid and it took a long while to cool it down, but thankfully the AC unit did. The walk from the back parking lot was pretty long and has stairs which was not easy with luggage. Might be hard for some.

This property is absolutely amazing! I will stay here again. Gorgeous hotel. Very Clean. Decorations top notch! Rooftop bar area amazing. In the lobby, they served Complimentary refreshing mint water, freshly baked cup cakes and cookies along with hot beverages coffee. Thank you - we really enjoyed ourselves The only issue was the water pressure away very low and hot water was warm.

The property was convenient to everything. The hotel was clean, comfortable, we were on the ground floor this stay and it was noisy but previously we’re on the 3rd floor and it was quiet. It would have been wonderful to have the ability to have breakfast without going out. They do have a lovely rooftop deck where you can have a bite to eat and a drink. Lovely. The rooms are equipped with everything you need and are comfortable.
