outside doors UGH

I was very surprised to find that we were in a building attached by a long hallway to the main building. It was very inconvenient for finding ice and/or using the breakfast area. Since it snowed when we entered the room through the outside entrance we of course got snow all over the carpet. We are NOT fans of rooms with an entrance door direct to the outside. The train was unbelievably loud. We live right next to train tracks and this was WAY louder than we are used to. A little warning about all of these things would have helped.

The building was what I would call a normal hotel. The property was older but looked like it had a few renovations in the past couple of years. Unfortunately the old cigarette days still lingered. We could still smell them in some areas. The only issue we had with the whole stay is that charged my wife's debit card for the room when I have already paid for it through Expedia.

Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. We were in the annex building, but there is a tunnel connecting it to the main building. Walls seemed thin and we could hear quite a bit of noise from the room next door.

Our stay was good. The hotel was pretty busy with an event in town. No working elevator and we were on the third floor. They did offer assistance with our bags. Breakfast was the same as most other chain properties. They were very busy but kept up with demand. Hotel was clean and well kept.

I wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to stay here. I took cold shower night of my check in and then took cold shower next morning and instead of going to room seeing I had no hot water they were so rude unpleasant and refused to issue me refund or any accommodation for the inconvenience.

We only stayed one night as we were in town for a show at The Surf and this hotel was a perfect option. Just a short drive to the ballroom and right off the highway with several quick dining options close by. Staff were very nice and accommodating and we appreciated that the hotel was pet friendly, clean and provided a nice breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.
