checked in late, around 1 a.m., and found a large dead water cockroach (about an inch and a half long) in the shower stall. It looked like it had been there for a while, since it left a stain on the shower floor.
The next morning, I also noticed three much smaller dead cockroaches (around a quarter of an inch each) in the room. It seems insecticide is being used, which is good, but it also shows that rooms aren’t being spot-checked or cleaned as thoroughly as they should be before guests arrive.
I personally don’t mind seeing bugs — dead or alive — but for a hotel, it comes across as unprofessional. Regular spot-checks and more thorough housekeeping would improve the experience for guests.
