Clean lodge, easy parking, basic kitchen but shared kitchen available next to lodge. We chose to make breakfast and packed lunches and the ate out in the evening. Intermittent WiFi but acceptable. Nice and warm and convenient location for a couple of nights. Quiet location close to the main Street, Cook and Saddle and Betty Jackson’s excellent for evening meal with teens. Added bonus was the glow worm tour from the lodge, very enjoyable.

Not quite what we expected from photos. Room was fine, but dated. Fireplace did not work. Cobwebs present throughout. We were expected to make our own breakfast and ensure all dishes were cleaned and put away or a cleaning charge would be placed on our account. That seemed odd to us and this was the only property that required this during our 3 weeks in New Zealand. We did appreciate the free glow worm tour and the location of the property.

The apartment was just ok and not terribly clean. Probably better options in Franz Josey with the same access to the attractions around the glacier. Fox glacier was great for walking and sight seeing. would just stay elsewhere if I visit again.

Good service and ammenities. Skylight in the second bedroom made it difficult to sleep as there wasn’t a blind. Pillows were plentiful but all were the same size and quite big, we prefer a flat pillow so didn’t have a great sleep.

Room was clean. Bedding a bit uncomfortable. Found it hard to get warm. Had to turn airconditioner off as it blew its stream of air right onto bed. Generally a bit dated. Continental breakfast fine, but note that said if we did not clean up sufficiently we would be charged, did not go down well.

The timber look rooms we stayed in were awesome and the view of the mountains from our room was incredible. Such a lovely town and a short walk to the pub for dinner.

I think it's a nice enough place. It seemed more primitive with less heat. Combination motel and motorhome place. If it had been rated at an eight out of 10 I probably would have given it a higher rating.

Good little place in the middle of nowhere. On site management is great, friendly, and provided an informative Glow-worm walk. We stayed in the king spa room, and was able to peruse the spa after a long day of walking so it was a nice touch. Could consider adding a little shelf for toiletries in the shower.

This is my extended review The above was all for expedia not fox glacier lodge because I never went there in the search for mount cook it said fox lodge was 10km so we booked it after our 5 hour hike we put address in gps and it said 5 hours 45 minutes …..10 km is if you were to go across the mountain which was obviously impossible since there are no roads on the mountain I called the fox lodge and they said they have asked numerous times for Expedia to not put there listing as a accommodation for Mt Cook but Expedia has not done that so out of country visitors are screwed because they have no idea until it is too late Expedia would NOT refund the money even though it is obviously was there mistake What a utter lack of customer service and to top it off we had no lodging for the evening Really????? What a joke!!!! After all the business I have given them over the years you would think that they would have gone out of their way…. Never again will I use Expedia!!! I’m sure Fox lodge is great but Expedia needs a wake up call
