Don’t stay at this location!!

We have stayed at Country Inn and Suites many, many times and this stay terrible. When we went down to the indoor pool, there was something floating in the water that looked like vomit. I tried to call the front desk 3 times, no answer and went down twice and no one was there to report it to.There was a picture missing on the wall, not enough towels (and did not bring extra), and there were holes in the blackout curtain. Heat did not get above 69 degrees despite trying to set it higher. The room and hallways smelled musty. The pool and hot tub looked dirty and there was a lack of chlorine smell that you find with an indoor pool. Did not bother with the free breakfast. Unfortunately this was a horrible stay all the way around! Not sure I will stay at this chain again.

Worst stay ever. Bed bugs- never in our life have we experienced this. We let the hotel know and they could care less, they contacted us because we left an item in our room and we told them we left early in a hurry due to the bed bugs and they did not seem one bit surprised, no apologies, no comment, just to let them know what we discovered we had forgotten once we got home because they can’t tell us what it is. We called them when we arrived home and they told us they’d mail our mouse that day (it was a mouse we’d forgotten in our rush to get out of there). It’s two weeks later and we called since we hadn’t received it and they informed us we would have to give them a credit card for them to mail our mouse back. Still no apologies, no customer service at all. No one ever called us to ask us for payment to get our MacBook mouse, the last they told us they were mailing it. We had to reach out to them again and suddenly they want payment. I’ve never had such awful service in my life, I am floored.

Check-in was friendly and efficient. Only complaint is my room could use a micro cleaning. dust boards, door jabs, that type of micro cleaning. Invest in a Magic Sponge.

Just ok for a quick night

Not the best, not very comfortable, not very clean. The whole hotel needs a good cleaning and updates. The smell of the room when you go in is not good. Pros of the place is that it has a mini fridge and microwave in the room.

Unsafe parking lot

Price is great. The bed is comfortable. There was dirty washcloths on the bathroom floor. Yukk! They also had snow last week and the parking lot was still full of ice and snow. It wasn’t cleaned at all. Our car skidded in the parking lot. They should treat their parking lot better. It just wasn’t safe to walk there!

The property was never plowed so the entire parking lot is a sheet of ice. We requested to cancel due to my daughter’s heart surgeon letting us know about the winter storm (and offering to see us earlier in the day so we could return back to the OBX). The property refused to allow us to cancel even with these circumstances telling us it was fine and come on over early. Then we arrive and the entire lot is ice, we nearly slipped several times getting to the building. We went to leave this morning and she said she saw a bug, searched the bed and found a bed bug! I’ve never been so disappointed and frustrated. We immediately reached out to Expedia (the hotel clerk argued for over 30 minutes the day before that it was the fault of Expedia we couldn’t cancel although Expedia denied this). Expedia was incredibly apologetic for the entire situation and somehow the hotel was immediately willing to refund without denying the bed bugs nor arguing. This made us believe they already were aware since they were so argumentative the day before over a serious winter storm and understanding she was only 6 weeks out from heart surgery. We have stayed here at least 8x per year for almost 2.5 years and it’s quickly went downhill the past few visits. This will definitely be our last. In my 48 years I’ve never dealt with bugs, we used our phone to identify it and kept photos for expedia.

The hotel needs more carts. There are only 2 and they need to be replaced. It’s old but clean. Breakfast is hot and good. I have never had a bad stay.
