When we arrived we were told that the tv could only be turned on one way and if we made a mistake it was our fault and nothing could be done about the tv till the next day.
We followed the instructions we were given to the letter and it still didnt work. We ate in the hotel that evening which was good but we did tell the staff we had a problem with the tv which they sent some to look at but they couldn't work it either. They came to reset a box in the roof at 10pm but this still did not fix the problem but with no more info we decided to go to bed as we couldn't use the tv.
On returning for our second night we found our tv still not working and no feedback from the hotel so again we decided to go to bed early
This was a nice little hotel but was let down by a lack of communication
On the plus side the food was nice and the beer cold
All was great only problem was tv wasnt working, but they provided me with a 15% off voucher for my next visit. Also breakfast wasnt until 9am so too late as i had an early start the following day..but they kindly provided me with a packed lunch

We arrived at this ‘pet friendly’ hotel to be told that there were no public areas we could take our dog because they were busy with functions. As we arrived early hoping to get some refreshment, our room was not ready and we had no option but to sit in the car until it was.
We were told that we could get something to eat with the dog between two functions, presumably whilst they cleaned up after the first and relayed for the second.
We were told that only the bedrooms were dog friendly.
I think that they were trying to be accommodating but it was not what we had experienced anywhere else. I asked if I could cancel given the situation but was told to contact Expedia which also proved futile so we left and found somewhere else where we could sit in the bar area all day with dog and staff were friendly
I don’t normally review hotels unless they are outstanding and this hotel was. Amazingly large room just outside main hotel. Ordered food to take back to room and couldn’t fault it. Staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Nice breakfast too. Would recommend and definitely stay here again. Thank you.
Stayed for one night. The room was for 3 and spacious. However, cleanliness was terrible. Dust and hair everywhere and the bath and toilet were not clean. We had booked breakfast for Sunday morning but had to leave by 8 and were told that breakfast was only served at 9! However, they did offer to and packed us sandwiches for breakfast but delivered them to our room including ham sandwiches on Sat night at 10pm and we don’t have a fridge and it was summer. So unfortunately the sandwiches went in the bin the next day. The staff were polite but the hotel’s standards especially cleanliness were poor. And not serving breakfast before 9am is pretty poor for a hotel.
The grounds of the hotel were well kept and the garden was pretty. There was plenty of parking. The reception and dinning area was clean and tidy. I liked that you could choose to eat in the restaurant as a more formal option but there was also the bar area which was more relaxed and had a good atmosphere. We ate dinner twice and both times the food was delicious. Breakfast was included with the room and there were several options including a cooked breakfast. I enjoyed the scrambled egg on toast.
We were in room 7. The room was small but we were only staying for a couple of days and was suitable for our needs. The bathroom had a sliding door so did not close fully and no window which was unfortunately causing some mould in places. The door to the room needed a firm push to close it. There was what looked like a water mark on the wall where there must have been a leak at some time. That said this part of the hotel is within an old building and the hotel has used the space as best possible. This room is above the hotel’s recycling bin store, there was no bad smells and the staff were not particularly noisy when using this area and we had the window open. The room was clean and tidy but just a little tired. I noticed the hotel was upgrading rooms and maybe this room is on the list. When we left, housekeeping was in the room opposite (no. 8) and it looked much bigger and generally nicer. Overall, I would stay again and all the staff were excellent.
This was a charming, older property. The food and service were excellent. The only drawbacks were that the location was a bit out of the way, and the very large bathroom did not have a counter, shelf, or table for our toiletries.
