An older hotel will have its issues… if you use the shower your room turns into a jungle for the evening, no movement of air at all due to the fact there is no AC, just a flaccid fan lazily rotating away. The cavernous hallways echo each ice bucket trip or screaming running child that comes down the way. Not being able to sleep due to the fact of our hot sweat room I arose early to start packing and I watched a homeless man on a bike outside the hotel in the courtyard screaming and picking through the cigarette huts knocking it to the ground and screaming profanities as he went.. this was 10ft from hotel parking, right next to our car actually. Needless to say 120 dollars later I’m glad to be home.

There was a gas leak across the street that prevented guests from leaving the hotel for about 7 hours. We received communication around 11AM to shelter in place for the safety of ourselves and the hotel, but there was never any communication the order was lifted. When I called to ask about status around 4PM, the desk attendant wasn't friendly in providing that she didn't have an update. I understand it was a situation out of the hotel's control, but more could have been done in terms of internal communication and accommodating guests for the inconvenience as it did have an impact on my trip. Also would have like the option to turn up the heat in my room as I was pretty cold through the night.
