Really nice property. Check in/out was a breeze. The home itself was very nice and clean, also larger than expected. The outside area was spectacular. We arrived after dark so we couldn’t see anything that night. But the next morning we woke up to an amazing view of the misty hollow and rolling hills, cows mooing in the distance, hummingbirds flitting about, and a couple of bunnies milling about in the yard. We spent morning on the deck, went into Galena during the day, and spent the evenings by the fire pit. So relaxing and enjoyable. Would highly recommend!

What a beautiful property! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location is great, being close to Galena. The views are amazing, overlooking the valley, hearing the cows in the distance. Loved all of the birds, which entertained us during the whole stay. We will be back soon!

My dream house

This was my first VRBO and I couldn’t be happier. I was in love with the country style of the home inside and the FANTASTIC views outside. The bird s, including a wild turkey, were so fun to watch and listen to. You’re set back so you don’t hear the road. sooooo peaceful. Inside, there’s literally everything you need. Towels, utensils, dishes and glassware and more. There was even ice and chilled beer mugs in the freezer. The beds were super comfy and I am picky trust me. Plenty of storage for your clothes. The pool table was fun! It was too windy to use the grill or firepit but they looked very inviting. Staying there gave me the comfort you feel when you visit a family member that makes you feel at home. To top it off there was a complementary bottle of red wine from their vineyard. I usually get headaches from red wine. Not this one! He also gave us a bottle of rose that we will have at Easter tomorrow Don’t wait. Book this now!

The only thing that we were surprised at was by how fast the turn came up for the house, but once we flew by one time, we were prepared and it was easy to find after that.It is a very cute, clean and cozy place. I was wishing we were there in nicer weather as the view is spectacular, and the fire pit and grill area were very nice.Loved the paths that were mown into the field for easy exploring.It was a very easy distance to town, and everything about our stay was just easy.

Amazing Cabin with Amazing Views

Can't say enough about our stay at Bird Cottage. It was the best. The cabin is delightful and the views breathtaking. Would love to come back in the fall just to see the view when the trees are changing colors. We loved sitting out on the front porch and watching the birds. So many different varieties (and we're not even birdwatchers). We also saw deer, rabbits, squirrels, and even a raccoon who literally walked 15 feet from us when we were enjoying a fire in the firepit. The cabin itself was exceptionally clean and comfortable with plenty of room for the two of us. Our pup loved long walks up the lane or around the vineyard. Doesn't get much better than Bird Cottage.

Beautiful private cottage perfect for bird lovers

My husband and I stayed here with our small dog over a weekend. Unfortunately we were there on a particularly bitter cold and windy weekend, but despite that it was a wonderful time. The views are incredible, both on the drive there and at the cottage on the deck. Tons of bird feeders, complete with bird books and binoculars in the house, make it the perfect spot for those who appreciate nature. Our dog had the best time running around the property, we took a walk down by the vineyard at sunrise which was beautiful. Everything was impeccably clean, and there was plenty of everything we needed. We will definitely be back for another visit during a warmer time of year!
