I have stayed at The Marquis on 2 occasions and both times had a great visit. From check in to check out it’s been great. The rooms are clean, well appointed and very comfortable. The beds are great so a good night sleep is on the cards. Location is quiet and the surrounds are beautiful. The view is top notch. The meals at the pub are excellent and good value. I will be back and can definitely recommend.

We picked the hotel for the beautiful view and I was not disappointed, the beds were comfortable but the shower was small, overall not bad

We stayed there twice, at the beginning and end of our trip to Tassie. No hot water the first time and no room the second because somebody had stuffed up! Thanks to Jacqui we finally ended up with a room. The views were great.

Quite area, easy city access

We arrived after checkin time & was helped by a very friendly & helpful staff member who had just finished her shift. The next day was a public holiday so we didn’t see anyone else as the hotel was closed. Easy walk down hill to city centre & harbour. Quite an effort to return. But if taking a car there are plenty of paid car parks available.

This hotel/motel was a great find! Our room (number 7) had an amazing view over Hobart and the water. Rooms are spacious and have really comfortable beds. Water pressure in shower was excellent. Air cond/heating works really well. We loved being able to have the windows open too. Staff were really friendly and there's a mini mart a short walk away. The hotel is on a hill though so it is quite a steep walk down and back up from the city centre. We enjoyed the exercise though. Not good for the elderly unless you have a car or using Uber/Taxi.

Great for the price

Comfortable motel stay just outside of the downtown Hobart area. I would recommend for those with a car, as the hill is quite steep. Always had parking available. Noise wasn’t an issue for me, although folks were drinking in the parking lot quite late (didn’t bother me). If you’re on a budget, a mighty fine stay.

Staff were friendly on our arrival. Very comfortable bed and we had a lovely view. It was a very economical hotel for the budget conscious. Very clean, though the bathroom was tiny, the shower was fantastic.

Friendly staff, handy location. Room was a little noisy at times, but not too bad. Basic amenities, but that is also fine. Great view due to being towards top of a hill. The hill also meant walking to cbd was ok, but got taxi back. Overall it was a nice stay and we'd stay again

the Marquis was as described, budget friendly, clean and the view was awesome. The bed was a little firm but otherwise ok. Only a few minutes drive to centre of Hobart.

Nice room with a fantastic view of hobart and the bay. Decent beds, modern tv, fridge and aircon. Nice bar with pool tables, good priced beer. Very close to city center. Only downside is its up on a steep hill, so would recommend driving or uber back from the city. Overall friendly helpful staff, nice stay.

A good budget room, it was quite, and clean the bed was comfortable, would stay again, the only thing to be aware of it is on a very steep street, so we walked into town and got an uber back only $8.80.
