We spent $1100 for 3 nights in an ocean front junior suite. There was no coffee or towels anywhere in the building. Folks were livid. Luckily I brought a towel from home and an electric kettle, french press and coffee. I felt terrible for the other guests. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Slept through the night on a nice bed. We enjoyed the electric fireplace and the deer grazing right off of the balcony while we watched the waves. We had a great time and you will too if you bring your own coffee set up and towels!

There was no soap, shampoo, the couch had rips in fabric, the freezer door kept falling off. There was only 1 towel, took them awhile to find us another one. And both key cards stopped working. Had to jeep going downstairs .

This was one of the worst maintained hotels that I've stayed at especially given the $150 price tag before taxes. Not only was everything in the hotel extremely old and dated, their was moss growing inside the double pane windows, the outdoor chairs and table hand dirt and algae growing on the, the outdoor table was actually overturned when I checked into the room, the balcony had a puddle and was very dirty, and even though the best thing about this place was the views, all of the windows were dirty and stained. Add to this, the place had now supplies. There were two spots near the sinks for tissue paper, and there wasn't any. When I asked the front desk about it, they said that they had run out of tissue paper and that they would be delivered at some point. Several days in, I was running out of shampoo and asked the front desk again. They said that they had run out of shampoo and that only the home office could order more. In addition, the restaurant at this place was shut down for the season, and at check-in the front desk staff said that there would be no housekeeping service and that if I wanted fresh towels to ask for them at the front desk. This is the worst delivery of services given the money that I paid at a hotel that I've ever experienced. I will say that the people who work here were very nice and tried to do what they could with their limited resources. They all seemed resigned to the situation though.

The hotel was completely out of coffee and shampoo. There was only one tiny bar of soap in the room for two vanities and a shower. There was only one hand towel in the suite and two towels. The restaurants were closed and the breakfast bar was closed down by the county due to lack of permit. You walk on loose lobby tile when going to the elevator and the aquarium they brag about is dirty and has 3-4 fish in it. We lasted thirty minutes or so then walked out and went down the street.

dirty and dated, hairdryers broken, coffee maker but no coffee, 1 coffee cup, no shampoo or conditioner, no shower curtain-we had to mop up floor with the 2 towels, and 1 washcloth, that we had. We had a balcony. I stepped out on it and slid. I caught myself before I hit the ground-very dangerous and someone is going to get hurt! Tiles, when we came into the hotel, are broken and a trip hazard. The roof is green with moss-maybe what is keeping it from leaking. We will not be back!

Ocean view disappointment

It was a nice stay, aside from the ocean view i specifically paid for. There was no ocean view. There was a lovely view of bushes but that wasnt what i was looking for. There were also no additional towels.

Always Our Choice

All rooms face the Pacific Ocean with a balcony. Rooms are one bedroom studios with a sofa, desk, dining table, and lots of draws. There is a bar sink, microwave, and mini refrig in the kitchen. There is another sink and split height counter next to the entry door. The bathroom is across this entry counter and is not cramped for space. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The tv in the kitchen is an out-dated tube. However, there is a flat screen in the bedroom. Rooms are not upgraded to charge electronics. Bring chargers that plug into outlets. Wi-fi is spotty. Great if you have 4G or 5G. Out of coffee and facial tissues. They did provide shampoo, but only 1 tiny bar soap. The restaurant has been closed for years and still waiting for new management to do something about it. The Shilo Inn has the potential to be a premier hotel. If it is upgraded and become a full service experience for guests, it could easily become Ocean Shore's premier accommodation. However, that said, the rates will undoubtedly go up. Meanwhile, owner and management is doing their best with what they have. I do hope they stay in business because we sure like staying at the Shilo Inn.

The rooms were not clean. Lots of hair and smells. The floors were sticky. The pillows had blood stains. Also, there was no shampoo or coffee. The area around the property was flooded and stagnant. When front office was notified that there were no towels or soap left in the room, they told us to come down and get them if we wanted them.

The lack of restaurant and bar was understandable. The complete lack of coffee in the rooms or anywhere on the premises was annoying. The building is dated and service was acceptable, but some staff seemed indifferent or annoyed that we were checking in. The heating unit started making odd buzzing noises, and it was just easier to unplug it than getting it dealt with
