Great stay

Very nice place, especially for the price. Only complaint is that the AC was loud and did not work too well, but was still able to comfortably be in the room. Well worth it.

Family Friendly Vacation Hub

Horse Cave Motel is for many reasons the place I wish my parents had taken me when I was a child, and where I wish I'd taken my children when they were young. Ideally located in the center of one of the most unique geographical locations in the world, multiple opportunities for sightseeing and learning unlike anywhere else in the world. Horse Cave motel would have been perfect for my 1970s youth, and it has retained that charming motif.

What you reserve may not be what you get!

We booked a queen room. Upon arrival we were told that all they had available were 2 doubles. We left and stayed somewhere else. Only book this place if you don’t care what type of bed you get.

Cute little motel. It felt like stepping back in time, but with modern amenities. It was so quiet in our room. Did not hear a peek all night. And we were right beside the office. The door has an actual key, with an old style keychain. The owner was friendly and made sure everything was good for our stay. If you are wanting all the luxury of a modern motel/hotel, this is not it. But if you want something cute and cozy, and a welcoming stay. Keep this one in mind.

This was actually a quaint little motel. Downside: Despite booking for two adults and 2 children, had to pay $10/each additional for kids. The beds were like sleeping on concrete.

Not so good stay!

The attendant told me they had an elevator because the room we wanted (a king bed) was on the second floor but when I got there there was no elevator. The attendant said he didn’t tell me that like I was stupid. So it was late and no refund so we took a down stairs 2 bed room. The room was ok clean but very dated and beds were not comfy at all. The next morning the same attendant knocked in the door at 10:05 and told me I had 20 mins. To leave that check out was 10. He never told me a check out time but again he said he did. Who makes a check out time for 10? It’s usually 11. It made our stay for a family funeral very uncomfortabke

Do not stay here.

The owner is extremely rude he wouldn't accept the hotel.com reservation although he had already been paid by them. He had an issue with hotel.com and took it out on us. We called hotel.com the hotel then canceled our reservation as we stood there. I even called the police on him. Before the call to hotel.com. Because it was dark and getting late, we ended up staying there after I paid with my credit card. Hotel.com said they would refund my reservation. If you stay there be warned the bathroom is not heated. The outside temperature was in the low 30s. The above-mentioned picture is not of the room we had. The son finally took control of the situation about our reservation.

I was charged 22.00 additional for my ESA pets. In cash, no receipt! Seemed fishy. Although both men upon check-in were very friendly. I asked the office if they had a blow dryer and he said no, and there was no in room coffee. That would’ve made it more pleasant.
