This is the only hotel in Town. You have to get there before 9pm if you want to find the Clerck. The hotel is pretty antique, and makes you feel let ke
The hotel was old, quaint. They have a restaurant but it was only open for lunch. No decent restaurant in town. No bars either. Bed was comfortable, but the room was noisy because of traffic. Rooms all on 2nd floor, but no elevator and coffee maker was on 1st floor. I wouldn't stay there again.
Was a Keurig machine with no coffee
I understand it’s an old building, but it was a bit noisy. The windows don’t close tight. There was a lot of traffic sound.
When I come back, absolutely!
I will start by stating that I am aware that this building is 100 years old, but their website states "renovations" have been done and I could not really find any that I would consider recent or even efficiently done. I spoke with the owner before leaving and mentioned some concerns but all I got where excuses.
For $150.00 a night this was awful. The entire place smelled like mold. owner said they changed the carpet 2 years ago, it looks like it has been there since 1970. She mentioned the cost of it being $34k to get that carpet. I would probably gone with something more modern but still within the antique or vintage look to match the 100 year old building. it looks like who ever is doing the maintenance is doing it at cost or just putting on band-aid on all jobs. The first room I was in was #30. It has a Japanese Theme but poorly executed. The room is dark, with dark curtains, and cheap linens. Pillows that probably were bought at the local Dollar General for $10. The bathroom had rust and mold noticeable. It faces the street and I could hear some car noise and the train that seem to go by at 10pm and then 3 am. I was not there during the day. Then I switch to Room 28. This was a bit better, still ugly green and old carpet, linens looked like they had not been changed since the last patron, they were light blue in color with bleach stains. I am glad I bring my own pillow cases and sheets when ever I can for this very reason. There was a strong odor of Mold.
Do NOT stay here!
1) Check in is only from 3pm to 5pm--that's it. Unfortunately we found that out at about 11pm. Yes, it was on the web page at booking, but it only showed up after clicking a link for more details. Such an unusual policy should be top line, bold print, flashing, with an "are you sure you want to do this" button.
2) This place is DANGEROUS. Upon arriving at midnight, no one was available, but the front door was wide open. I walked in and walked up and down the hallways. There's nothing to keep any crackhead from wandering in off the street and kicking in one of the very flimsy room doors. I was actually kind of glad we werent able to check in. Which leads me to...
3) This place looks NOTHING like the pictures. It is old and run-down and i wouldn't have booked it under any circumstances if i had known the truth.
Just don't do it.

Absolutely Charming
Quaint and charming hotel. This is a 100-year-old home that was turned into a 24-room hotel. Floors are creaky and aren’t necessarily level throughout, but the history and character of this retreat is well worth it. We gathered with friends and felt as if we were at home. Would definitely stay here again!
