Check in Debacle!

We made our reservations 5 weeks in advance. Check-in is at 4:00 in the afternoon and we arrived at 4:15. Our room was not ready, and we had to wait in the lobby until 5:40 before we were allowed in our room. Meanwhile we had made a reservation at 5:30 with friends to a restaurant within walking distance. Fortunately, they were already there and able to hold the table. Besides the debacle of the check-in there were very few amenities in the room, the pillows were flat and horrible, no alarm clock, no view. I was like a shipping container with a bed and shower. The hotel was basically clean, but very dated. The best part of our stay was the free breakfast, which had a lot of options, and the hotel staff was friendly.

Absolutely love the location. The hotel was accommodating and had everything we needed. It was well kept and had all necessary amenities including a pool which helps when traveling with kids. My only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 was 2 of the 4 nights we were there, I noticed a nasty smell (sewage perhaps) from the ac vent in the middle of the night. It was quite strong and unpleasant. May have my to do with area and nothing specifically to do with the hotel parking so I wouldn't find the hotel itself a bad review over this but it did affect my overall experience

Good hotel but a couple of minor issues

Check it was slow due to computer having to update. Also, the room walls are very thin and unfortunately our drunk neighbors were talking loud late at night which woke me up. Luckily, I had earplugs and there were some provided by the hotel. It is difficult to find parking at this hotel. However, once you do, you should not leave with your vehicle. We just walked everywhere downtown. However, the location is wonderful if you are interested in hanging out in downtown Fernandina. It was also clean, and the staff was polite.
