Wonderful hotel, I was in the "newly renovated rooms" the shower was not renovated and the paint smell in the room was strong. With a window open you couldn't to much. I did however get locked in the building as the door open button did not work, lucky someone was coming in so it opened then. I did see people fixing it the following day.

When we first checked in with my wife, 2 week old daughter and dog we were sent to a room where the door was broken. By that I mean the closer on the back of the door was broken so the door would not open wide enough to get a stroller and car seat inside. My wife was able to squeeze herself and the dog in the room while I passed her the baby. I had to drag all of our stuff that did not fit through the door back down to our car before going to the front desk to switch rooms. When I told the front desk what had happened they were quick to change us rooms which was nice. We also had called ahead stating we were going to bring our dog. We were expecting some dishes in the room for his food and water which there wasn't. Unfortunately when I went back down to the front desk again to ask, I was told that they used to have stuff for dogs but people stole them and they were never replaced. No offer of anything to really help out. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was very poor. I did see the signs when we got there that the hotel was doing construction. When we did check out my wife informed the staff that we did not receive anything for our dog and asked for the pet fee to be waived, which the staff member did. That was very nice. Overall we were just not very happy with our experience at the Sandman. Maybe next time would be better, but I think we will look for a different hotel.

This is an older property which is in need of some renovations, they say that they are in the process of renovating. Our suite is big, bathroom cabinets need to be upgraded, blind in bedroom doesn’t work properly, A/C in living area is noisy. Outside patio is dirty, lock for door going to the patio is useless. The room is clean. Other than that I don’t think I would stay here again.

Only real negative was a blood stain on one of the sheets. The bathroom is a little bit ragged and needs some at least slight renovation. But the staff were excellent.
