Oil paint smells

The cabin had really strong oil paint smell. It was a long night to go through due to the smell of oil paint. It seems like the cabin was renovated, but the smell really hard to bear. One of the family members decided to stay in the car for the night. So we left early next morning.

Small cozy good viber but could be more organized. Information sharing should be more specific esp. for thise checking in after 8pm. If only there would be lights where the cottage signs are at night, it wiuld be helpful. Check out is at 10am and but the office hour is 12pm onwards we didn tknow where to drop the keys so we left a VM. It’s a good property but information sharing could he improved

The property and cabins were recently renovated or built and they were very clean. The front office is very friendly and helpful. Our cabin like several others, was attached and under the same roof as a second larger cabin, separated by a wall and locked door on the inside. The first night we listened to the high pitch of the refrigerator as it cycled on and off. The second night, when a family moved into the second half of the cabin, we could hear every conversation they had as well as every sound they made. (NOTE - they were not being loud - just normal conversation and noises. Just everything came through the wall and door very clearly.) This on top of the refrigerator noise caused us to checkout early. We would stay there again, but would ask for one of the older single family cabins.

There’s a mouse in the house

Everything was going well until we heard a little mouse rummaging through our stuff. This went on for 3 hours. We tried calling but the call would not go through. We told the manager the next day. She said she didn’t get our call. And told us she hadn’t received a complaint like this for this room.

The little house was fine and it was clean. Although I am not familiar with pricing here in the area I am used to paying this amount (or less) and receiving higher end amenities. ie: bedding, linens etc. A comfortable chair would be nice. Overall it served the purpose.

Restaurants and shopping are down and around the corner. The cabin appeared new. Perfect stop when visiting Mount Vernon. Beware of local fog overnight so sleep in nothing to see until it lifts. GPS will take you to a business site. Keep going to the new camp on the right. Friendly staff are available for questions if needed. Would stay again.

Lovely place, a little dated including WiFi speeds

The lodges are nice but seem a little dated now, the place is clean comfortable and the staff are very nice and helpful. So we enjoyed our stay. However the WiFi was so flaky that the TV kept cutting out let alone our devices. This was not great given we are from the UK and roaming charges are high.

Great location in proximity to Mt. Rushmore. Stay was cozy. I had a hard time sainting adequate heat/cooling even though there’s a heater and AC unit inside of the cabin. Was either too hot or too cold. Lastly their free WiFi was absolutely TERRIBLE. I couldn’t send pictures or messages so had to get off their WiFi and use my data plan to send. Please note this is a very small town, so stop and get all necessary groceries for these cabins, or of course go out to eat. There’s a freezer/fridge/microwave/coffee maker available. Little 2 seater table to eat and my unit had a patio with a picnic table outside on the patio.
