We have used this hotel the last 3 years and love it. This time was a little disappointing in the housekeeping. We stayed 3 nights and the room was never cleaned. Towels removed once and had to go to the front desk for supplies. I still love the hotel though. Great placement, 2 pools, hot tub and the location on the beach.

Room was wonderfully decorated with "beach" artwork, looked like it was freshly painted the week before we arrived, good selection of pillows. Private balcony nice for glass of wine out of the sun. Bathroom was small, but who spends time in there given the beach and outdoor gazebo on the dunes. Will definitely go back.

Great stay!

The staff was really friendly and welcoming. The kids loved the pools and hot tub. There are lots of things within walking distance which made it a convenient place to be.

This was our trip for my daughter's 4th birthday.. and the staff included a message on their big outdoor marque for her. Loved that! Everything was well maintained: clean and comfortable beds, wonderful breakfast, right on the beach with private access.

This was our first visit to the Outer Banks. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and had a great time. Hotel was clean, updated and had an awesome breakfast with many choices. Will definitely stay there again!

Go to place for our vacations to OBX, this is the third time we have stayed here. Is right on the beach, great views for the sunrise. Can even see the dolphins swimming in the morning. Several restaurants are close by. About a 45 minute drive to Corolla and 90 minute drive to Ocracoke. 20 minute drive to Roanoke if you want to go to the aquarium or see the Lost Colony play. Breakfast is good in the morning. Would recommend.

Ive stayed here several times in the past and this was my worst stay. Typically stay in the tower and have enjoyed our stay. Stayed in the main building and it was run down. Stains in the carpet. Rust stains in the shower. Housekeeping came daily to swap towels but they didnt replace washclothes or clean the space. Additionally the location was in front of the pool and it was loud at 930 pm. The noise kept my kids up. Our experience is much better in the towers.

The staff was not very friendly. The standard unit we stayed on had an unpleasant odor. We could hear Neightbors’ conversations and snoring. The bathroom had used products it was not completely cleaned. The building overall seemed old and lacked maintenance. The showers outside coming back from the beach did not work properly, running of out water and very little water pressure to be able to rinse off.

Beautiful hotel, quiet and restful

We try to get to the NC Outerbanks at least once a year, for the last 4 trips we have chosen to stay at Shutters on the Banks, room is beautiful and so quiet. No noise from the other rooms at all. Beach is easily accessible and very nice. Beds are amazing and so comfortable. Each year we say, maybe we will try a new hotel, then we say, nah, we can’t find anything we will like more than Shutters!
