Very charming hotel with amazing views of Fuji and the lake! The staff was amazing and helpful and many were able to speak English. Very unique experience-definitely recommend!
The hotel was very traditional and beautiful. We had a stunning view of Mt Fuji from our outdoor Onsen. I strongly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a traditional experience!
We chose 2 Superior Japanese rooms (Mt Fuji view) with on-deck soaking tub for 8 adults to share. Also dinner and breakfast plan. This reservation was a bit of a splurge or our first 2 nights in Japan. It was wonderful!
Truly exceptional staff!
Incredible views. Both of Mt Fuji from the room we selected and also of the (very nearby/easily walkable) lake from the dining room and in the evenings.
The meals were excellent in presentation, content and service.
The intermittent shuttle was convenient and appreciated.
The onsen offerings were very enjoyable for the group and not at all crowded when we used them. In fact, the hotel in general seemed quite and calm.
The public areas seemed well finished and updated/or well maintained. Some wonderful, artful and authentic accents too!
Our Superior Japanese room accommodated pretty well 4 adults sleeping in futons on the tatami mat floors (which takes some getting used to). We requested 4 single futons rather than what seemed the standard 2 double futons.
We also requested another regular chair (so 2 total). There were also 4 floor seats around a short-legged floor table. This extra chair also came in handy when juggling luggage some in the mornings and evenings when getting ready. so we could avoid luggage have much contact with tatami mats.
The room did have some aspects that were old/dated but which were also very well maintained and clean.
We had an incredible time here. The private onsen room with a Fuji view was such a treat and something we'll remember forever. The staff were wonderful and helpful and spoke English well. We went with the breakfast options and those were yummy and convenient. The picturesque location can't be beat. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but we liked the retro vibe. We would absolutely stay here again on our next trip to Mt. Fuji
This place is very old, and everything - from lobby - to room - to bath - to onsen is very very used. This infrastructure is definitely at the end of lifetime

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Overall is good. Can view Mt Fuji in the private bath. But cleanliness needs improved since moss in the bath room
Great traditional ryokan experience. Loved the dining and onsen experience. Room was very large with a beautiful lake view. Convenient shuttle to/from train station. Highly recommend.
Outstanding hotel and staffs. Service is second to none. They exhibited the traditional Japanese hospitality and treated guests with respect. This is the best hotel I experienced in the past several years in Japan. On the 5th floor, the gorgeous Fuji mountain is like right on your backyard. The dinner and breakfast were super. I definitely will stay at this hotel again next trip.
