Located in Riverbend at Lake Lure, The Winding River House is a beautiful new riverside log home surrounded by picturesque forest with a private lake a short walk away. It has sunny porches overlooking the river in the private, gated community of Riverbend at Lake Lure.

Spend your day tubing down the river, swimming at the lake, or relaxing on the porch! Enjoy the family-friendly atmosphere at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The location offers easy access to nearby restaurants, zip lines, hiking, fishing, boating, and swimming. It is a short drive to the Lake Lure beach and Chimney Rock State Park; quaint shops in Chimney Rock and Hendersonville; and music and theater in Brevard and Flat Rock. This home is 6.0 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 7.3 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, and 17.3 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).

This family-friendly (sorry, no four-legged family members), home-away-from-home has four bedrooms, a bunk room, and a game room set for ping pong and movie-watching. It is well-equipped with all the comforts of home plus some! The main level has a large great room with a wall of windows and a gas-log fireplace; a gourmet kitchen (with granite countertops and upgraded appliances), a half bath with a full-size stack washer and dryer; and a master bedroom with a queen bed, large walk-in closet, and spacious private bath. The upper level has two bedrooms with queen-size beds, a lovely full bath in the hall, and a large loft separating the two bedrooms. The lower level has a cozy family room with a bunk area, a large full bath, and a private bedroom with a queen-sized bed. There is room for everyone!

Winding River House has endless options! Go tubing in the river, jump in for a swim, or grab a pole and fish—all right from the backyard or common area in the community.
This home is 6.0 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 7.3 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, and 17.3 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).

Several excellent golf courses are nearby, including Apple Valley Golf Course, Bald Mountain Golf Course, and Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort, which Golf Digest rated as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US. The Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area is conveniently situated for outdoor adventure, including horseback riding, tubing, water sports, hiking, museums, theater, the Biltmore Estate and Village, shopping and restaurants, and so much more.

This beautiful home is centrally located just 15 minutes from Bat Cave, 35 minutes from Hendersonville, 50 minutes from Asheville, and about 2 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina. Also nearby are Pisgah National Forest (less than 1 hour from Lake Lure), which has over 500,000 acres of protected forest, and DuPont State Recreational Forest (1.25 hours from Lake Lure) with over 10,000 acres. These forests feature hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, horse trails, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views. If you and/or your children are fans of The Hunger Games book and movie, a scene with Katniss and Gale was shot at the Pisgah National Forest. In addition, you can also enjoy all the amenities Riverbend has to offer: swim in Mirror Lake or Kayak (Kayak provided), build sandcastles on Mirror Lake Beach (there’s a play area for children); have a meal at the covered picnic site complete with picnic tables, rocking chairs, stone fireplaces to BBQ lunch, restrooms and spectacular views; hike, bike, or jog one of the many trails; or sit and relax by the waterfall and river.

This home decorates for Christmas.

LAKE LURE WILL NOT BE OPEN FOR RECREATIONAL BOATING, FISHING, OR SWIMMING IN THE 2025 SEASON. Although the lake is closed and lowered while Hurricane Helene cleanup continues, there is much that our beautiful foothills area has to offer. LAKE ADGER, LAKE LANIER, and MIRROR LAKE suffered no damage, so homes and those lakes are available. BALD MOUNTAIN LAKE in the resort is open and beautiful. We are welcoming guests in over 60 beautiful homes to use as a "home base" for visiting nearby towns, restaurants, shops, hiking areas, and seasonal special events in Lake Lure, Hendersonville, Asheville, Black Mountain, Saluda, and Tryon. Golf is open to the public at Rumbling Bald, and local area wineries, breweries, trails, and music are within an hour's drive. Many of the Chimney Rock shops are set up at the Tryon International Equestrian Center Pavilion. Chimney Rock Park is now open!

Smoking is prohibited in all of our vacation rental homes.
Pets are not allowed in this home or on the property.
Parking for two (2) vehicles only. Guests may park an additional vehicle in the Riverbend at Lake Lure parking area, to the right of the gatehouse, and carpool to the home (be careful not to interrupt the flow of traffic through the parking area).
Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. local time (or anytime later).
Check-out time is 10:00 a.m. local time (or anytime earlier).
