Lakeland in March

Days Inn and Suites Lakeland was a good hotel to stay at. Beds were comfortable. Shower water temp stayed set. No need to keep adjusting it. Enjoyed having a little refrigerator and microwave in the room. Down points were our room was close to the elevator and ice machine. Both were noisy when in use. Also, breakfast did not have many choices, but good enough for just a quick start in the morning. Overall a good value.

The hotel was beyond my expectation. It was clean, safe and featured a professional friendly front desk as well as housekeeping staff, and a manager that went above and beyond for me. My original stay was cancelled due to a flight issue and he worked tirelessly with me and Expedia on my behalf to get a refund from Expedia on a non refundable rate. Because of his efforts I rebooked the same hotel the following week. The bed was a dream. Walking distance to two restaurants and a convenience store. I have no complaints and this hotel will be my go to on any future visits to the Lakeland area.

Room 119. There was nothing to like about this property. The room was just barely clean. The bathroom was awful. The grout in the bathroom floor which was supposed to be beige was black (dirty). The area between the sink and the granite had some black ring around the sink. It was gross. The bathroom ceiling apparently at some point had a leak that was repaired but not properly patched. There was hair to the rear of the tub that was never removed. It was there for the entire 3 nights we were there. The tub was stained and appeared dirty. But it could be that it has never been constantly cleaned and is now stained. The worst was on 2 occasions I was given towels that had an enormous number of long black hairs folded into the towels. I mentioned this to the cleaning lady, and I think she thought I was accusing her, but I was just letting her know. What she did - she did not give me any towels for that day. I had to get towels from the front desk. That was the 2nd time I was given towels with a lot of long black hair folded into the towels. There are other things I could mention, but I think this enough to give you a picture of this facility. At least, what I experienced in Room 119. Finally, I requested a receipt when I checked out and was told they only email receipts. I checked out on 3/6/25. Today is 3/8/25, and I have not received a receipt. I will NEVER stay at a Days Inn again.

Would stay again but needs some room maintenance.

The staff were great, check in was fast and easy but the room needed some maintenance. The shower faucet was hard to turn off and dripped constantly. The toilet also ran unless you manually returned the handle to the up position. The shower never really had hot water, barely warm enough. The room was very clean and quiet and well kept but no drawers for your clothes. Still, I would stay here again.

Comfortable bed

The bathroom wasn't as clean as I would have liked and I disliked that the lid to the toilet was missing. I was worried I would drop something in it and it wasn't so nice to stare into the toilet in a tiny bathroom while you're trying to get ready. There seemed to be a lot of vagrants hanging around the property. Maybe they lived there, I don't know. There was a lot if commotion in the hallways at all hours of the night. I asked to be far from the elevator and ice machine but that wasn't an option apparently. I could hear the elevator from our room all night and morning which made sleeping a challenge. The best thing I can say is that the staff was nice and the bed was really comfortable. I would consider coming back just because of the bed.
