Unfortunately, this was not a good experience for me. I arrived at 4:00 pm, and by 7:00 pm the air conditioning in my room still had not cooled down. I tried using the room phone, but it was not working. I went to the front desk to report the issue and request a different room, but they said they “had to” send a technician first before changing my room.
The technician came to the room, checked the AC remote, said everything was fine, and mentioned he would go to the roof to change the filter and then return to check on it. He never came back. By 11:00 pm, the room was unbearably hot.
I went back to the front desk again and was finally given a different room. They advised they did not understand how I was not changed from the room since the hotel was pretty much empty. I stayed in Nicaragua for five days, and having working air conditioning is a must for me. The room itself was fine, and the food was okay. Aside from the initial front desk experience, the rest of the service was good.
