The hotel is under construction. They didn’t have the connecting rooms I requested and said it didn’t meet my requirements. The bar that was advertised was not a bar… the pool was fine, hot tub jets didn’t work. The check in wasn’t what was stated on the site.

Great Service, But a Few Unexpected Surprises

I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Overland Park and overall, it was a good experience. The front desk staff was great—very friendly and accommodating. I had to ask for a cot for my daughter because the room description online had mentioned a pullout couch, which is one of the reasons I booked that particular room. Unfortunately, there wasn’t one, but the staff quickly brought us a cot, which was appreciated. The only other surprise was the price. It ended up being quite a bit more expensive than what I saw on Hotels.com. I’m not sure if it was due to local taxes or additional fees, but it was definitely more than I was expecting. Despite those couple of surprises, the stay itself was comfortable, and the service was excellent. I’d stay again but would be more careful about double-checking room details and final pricing next time.

The hotel itself seemed to be in disrepair. When I originally booked it stated breakfast was included however at check in we were informed that there would be an additional cost due to the event going on around the area. the pool had light that were going on and off during operating hours. we asked for extra towels since we did not want the room serviced during our stay we never received them. carpet in hallway on our floor was in horrible shape. parts were buckled and fraying. room was nice. all staff was friendly.

The curtains didn’t shut all the way so the streetlight light shined brightly in our window. The bed was very hard, and whoever was working the front desk sent a personal text message and Siri recognized the phone was registered to an individual not a business, which we didn’t find professional, more so sketchy especially after this hotel was in the news a week or two prior to our stay for some sketchy stuff after we apart made our reservation. This was a rougher Hilton to stay at.
