Room for Improvement

During our one night stay we were greeting by a strong order in the room. We never could figure out what it was. The room while clean was dated. One of the light bulbs in the restroom was out, and the there was a gap in the handle in the shower. The bed was comfortable and the hotel staff were nice but we were left disappointed.

All and all stay was ok. Original room had a fridge that didn't work so we were given another room without any hassle. Hotel could use some repairs overall. Biggest disappointment was the pool was shutdown and had been for weeks before. This was a deciding reason for choosing this location over other La Quinta's in the area. Had I been informed of this we would have chosen a different location. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The place was dingy inside, no friendly greeting at check in. Got our room key, headed to our assigned room slight mildew odor in hall, when we opened our door very strong odor of what can only be described as dirty mop water or mildew hit us. We thought maybe if we got air going it would dissipate, the air would barely blow. We went to lobby ask for a different room and advised of issue. We’re moved to a room on first floor it was cleaner did not smell but instead of getting a king we were given a double queen. Breakfast was not a good. Very sub par even for a free breakfast. Over priced for what we got. Next night we checked into the True by Hilton, cheaper rate, super clean, nice room and excellent breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. That is where we will stay for all future visits to that area. We will not ever return to that La Quinta. !

Me and my girlfriend have been driving cross country and we had a great time staying at this La Quinta. Everything was very clean, including the lobby and the front desk staff were extremely kind.

In Longview, this is your best bet.

While this seemed like a little older of a hotel, the room was clean and the beds comfortable. The area felt safe and clean. The room had a moldy smell to it but typical of older hotels. The pool was closed, which was a bummer because it was one of the filters we put when searching for a hotel. It was quiet overnight which was really nice. Overall it was a good stay. The breakfast was just okay. The town was run down so this was a nice surprise.

Overall room and hotel clean and beds were comfortable. Front desk clerks were efficient and courteous, maids were polite and helpful. Only complaints are that their pool/hot tub were unavailable for our entire stay of 4 days. Upon arrival, staff told us that they were just adjusting chemicals for the pool, but later the closure sign on the pool area said it was closed by the Longview Environmental Health Dept. So this was definitely a disappointment. The other problem, was that on Monday of our departure, the staff took away the breakfast before 10am (the end of breakfast service) by at least 10 minutes, so we didn't get any breakfast.

There was no refrigerator in my room. I didn’t know the girl at the front desk who’s been there a while now, was going to carry one to my room. I grabbed it from the hallway and put it in its place. She went above and beyond. The breakfast was still very good, but there wasn’t any yogurt anymore. No sugar free syrup either. Other than that, a great place to stay.
