I booked a 5-night stay at this hotel starting July 21, 2025, specifically reserving an “Executive Suite” as advertised. Upon arrival, I discovered the room was actually two completely separate rooms, each with its own door and key card, connected only by an internal door. This is not an Executive Suite as represented in their listing. I immediately contacted the manager, Michelle, multiple times. The next morning (July 22), we decided to leave and relocate to another hotel because the room was not as advertised. Michelle informed me we would still be charged for the entire second night, even though we left that morning and did not stay. I was charged over $500 for the night of July 22 for a room I did not use. I requested an invoice multiple times and was told it would be emailed, but after four days, nothing arrived. I returned to the hotel on July 25 and had to insist in person before Michelle finally provided the invoice. She attempted to insist that I sign the invoice that I agreed to be charged 2 nights when I in fact did not agree to this. Finally got a copy of the invoice after 10 minutes of uncomfortableness. The hotel refused to acknowledge that the room was misrepresented and charged me for the second night despite my immediate complaint and early departure. The manager provided poor customer service throughout the process. I have since filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General regarding the misleading room description.

The staff was very friendly, but the room was a bit dated and there were bugs on the ceiling and the toilet was clogged. The location is great and the breakfast was delicious.

UP Visit

Great location in Mackinaw City. Room had a fantastic view right on Lake Huron. Walk to Shepler’s ferry. Buffet was typical hotel breakfast buffet nothing to write home about. Only negative is the mattress in our room was in need of upgrading. All in all would definitely stay again.

This hotel needs a total renovation from top to bottom. We had a big room with sliding door to the beach (water was too cold to enjoy). The room was very dark and dingy with old wallpaper and smell. The shower has no shelf, so everything was on the floor (I think was kind of gross). The sink had a big chip out near the drain. The free breakfast was very menial, a big joke. We went to different places for our breakfast. Staff was not exactly friendly, front desk women were kind of snotty actually. The good points: Our king bed, which was very comfortable; parking was very easy; our stay was short Will not recommend, definitely will not return.

The hotel staff were great and made us feel right at home. The hotel however is declining- carpets old and musty, musty smell in room, jacuzzi had hair in it, room dated. It feels like they need a major revamp . Location is excellent.

The bathroom was not a staff issue. It’s maintenance. It had black mold by the tub and shower and a smell. Again not the staffs problem. At check in we were told we would receive a text when our room was ready. That never happened. All staff was very kind.

I expected the property to be dated, so that was fine, but the shower was in such poor condition, it was gross. Might not matter to some, but breakfast does not include decaf. That was an unexpected disappointment for me. Gym equipment in poor condition, and no towels or water available. Staff was good, and pretty clean, but would not stay there again.

Loved all the staff we met from front desk to cleaning staff. Very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served on the third floor and you can't take food back to your room but it is a very large dining room that accomodates many. Room was very comfortable. Lots of dead bugs on the balcony but I suppose that's normal. Absolutely loved the view of the beach!

Paid $430 for one night and the property is really run down … very old and unhygienic carpets. Can not step barefoot on the carpet in the room.

We had the executive suite for five people, which was good as we could be close to each other. It was a short walk to the ferry to Mackinac Island, and very close to a lot of good restaurants. The front desk staff were very friendly. The room had a musty smell. The breakfast was not good and we did not eat there. Also breakfast ends at 9 o’clock and was not convenient for us as we slept in.

Great location

Great location. We had a lake view room and enjoyed a beautiful sunrise each morning. The hotel is old with dim lighting in the hall but a comfortable and pleasant stay.
