Older hotel no view of the water

Older hotel that could use some upgrading. Staff was friendly. Room was relatively clean. I don’t believe there was a view if the water. The hotel is at least a block away from the river. Easy walk to the river and views.

It was an ok hotel. I probably wouldn't stay here again unless we were away from the pool. The room smelled like there was moisture in everything. The pool area noise is easily heard in your room but they did make sure to shut the pool down at 9pm to help with that. The Breakfast was pretty good. The biscuits were amazing! It was just ok cleaned even though the room was recently updated.

The front desk staff upon our arrival was very friendly and welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was a bit short but it was the Friday before a major holiday. Still adequate.

It was odd that the outdoor pool was not at the main building, but it was very nice and kept well. Some staff are very strict in the quiet time rules, even the lounge area.

I had a 5 star review ready for our stay until...on the 2nd day of our 3 day stay, our room card wouldn't let us into the building. We walked around to the front and I asked the lady working if our card had been deactivated? She raises her voice and says they do not deactivate cards. Well, ok...why is my card deactivated? She proceeds to blame it on the lady who checked us in and only said we were staying 2 nights instead of 3 or it could have been their new system. I wasn't looking for lip and excuses in a very loud voice. I was looking for an apology for the inconvenience of shutting our cards off early. I was very taken aback by this ladies tone with me. I didn't do anything wrong. You all did. Own it!!!
