Motel looked good on the outside. The room was clean. Bathroom was old/dated. Bed felt like sleeping on a wood pallet. Reason for poor property is terrible parking. If you have a large P/U truck, difficult to park.
Ok with run down places but not changing the sheets is a cardinal sin imo. Any place that does that is pretty sus imo. The price isn't bad but damn. I brought in my own bedding from my car
One of the Worst Hotel Experiences I’ve Ever Had — Stay Away
If I could give zero stars, I would. My recent stay at the Jupiter Hotel in Madras, Oregon was absolutely appalling. From the moment I checked in, it was clear that cleanliness and customer service are not priorities here.
First, the sheets were filthy — visibly stained and clearly not changed from the last guest. There were black body hairs in the sheet and stains on the pillows. The room smelled musty, like it hadn’t been cleaned properly in weeks, and there was grime in the corners and on the bathroom floor. This isn’t a matter of high expectations; this is basic hygiene that every guest should be able to count on.
Worse than the condition of the room was the attitude of the staff. I travel with a fully trained and ADA-compliant service dog, and instead of being treated with professionalism or basic courtesy, I was met with thinly veiled hostility. Staff were dismissive, unaccommodating, and made me feel unwelcome and burdensome simply because I had a service animal with me — which is both unethical and illegal.
Within minutes of checking in, I took the dirty stained pillow up to the front desk and brought up concerns about the room. I asked for another room and first she agreed, but asked me to vacate the other room first. When I returned with my stuff and gave her the key. She immediately said I’m canceling your reservation and refunding you your money.
Run down, poor lighting, no bedside lamps; inadequate/poorly placed electrical outlets; no place to set toiletries in bath, no place to hang hand towel, no ice machine; linens did not smell fresh
